Just a couple of things to run through to get a clearer picture of whats going on.
Have you authenticated your Video-SL product in the Setup menu of Scratch Live ?

If so selecting the Video-SL TAB in your Scratch Live User Interface will activate the Plugin and you should be good to go.
A couple of encoding specifications that will help the performance of your Video-SL product.
Have you installed Perian for Mac which will help with decoding the video files ?

Are you using Handbrake to encode your videos ?
You can download Handbrake here: handbrake.fr

There is a Video-SL preset for Handbrake which can be downloaded here: sera.to
Located in the 'Downloading and Installing the Video-SL Preset for Mac' section on this page.

This will conform your export .mp4 .m4v files to a standard that works well with Video-SL.

If all these steps are followed you should be able to play your videos with the Hardware and Software that you have installed.

You mention in your thread that you can see the playhead at "the end of the track" but you are unable to move it ?? This may be corrupt video files... Does the playhead travel from the start of the waveform to the end of the waveform when your playing Audio files ???

Just to add to this, if your using vinyl and your in 'ABS' Mode in Scratch Live and the playhead is at the end of the waveform it may indicate that the needle has gone beyond the duration of the track ...

Another test would be to up your buffer settings in the Video-SL Plugin setup menu.

well all the files worked just fine until i reinstalled snow leopard. i will try perian and handbrake to see if this helps. thanks Anthony
