Here we go, it's the NS7 all over again. This nice little tidbit was in my mailbox today........
This is a quick note to let you know that we have received official notification
from Numark that we will not be getting all of the NS6s we have requested by June 1.
Unfortunately, neither will anyone else (see the official statement from Numark below).
Rest assured, we will do everything humanly possible to make sure our customers get them
before anyone else. We will beg, yell, and send chocolates to bribe the folks at Numark
just to get your NS6 to you faster.
We will be doing allocations for the June 1 shipment tomorrow.
If you are not in the 1st shipment, don't worry. Numark has promised multiple
shipments throughout June so you'll have your soon too!
We will be sending out allocation emails this weekend.
Please do not respond asking if your order will be shipped first.
If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know!
Keep killing it,
Nat & Xander

Please see the official statement from Numark Sales Manager below:
Dear valued Numark customers,
Due to the high demand of the anticipated NS6 most retail locations supporting the world launch of the product have already sold out even before the product arrives. In order to support as many of our dealers as possible for the launch most businesses will only be receiving a small amount of NS6 units on the first shipment.
I can extend to you with confidence that the NS6 is being manufactured in large quantities to meet public demand and more units will be arriving in June and throughout the summer months.
Thank you in advance for your support of the Numark product line.
Best regards.

problem is i just talked to proaudiostar and they have 40 units ordered and no shipment yet ... multiply that by all online and walk-in dealers and you have a mess
unless you have a buddy that works in ordering at guitar center or something ;)
cause you know no matter what there are units held back for friends and preferred customers --- i know this cause i have one of those buddies

Local Guitar Center has them.
I'll send one to someone for 1100.00 :) just kidding. Spoke to the guy and he said the official release was this afternoon and he can't sell them till then.
Been thinking about getting one because I hate hauling around a heavy ass NS7 in the case, but I never plan on getting rid of it either. Been thinking about getting a VCI again for back pack DJing, but man the NS6 is very tempting.
What say you fellas?
Wish I had some user feedback on it.

Only thing i find that would cement Numark is the "X7" by making it and itch product. jus image!!!!!!!

i like it but there are a few things that are annoying me....
i like the auto cueing of the vci-300 and ddj-s1 -- so even with split cue i have to spend time pressing the 'cue' buttons... very annoying
also the ddj-s1 'strip search' is much more precise.
and these jog wheels are gonna take a bit to get used to ... way to easy to move.
but those are minor issue/preference stuff.... so far it is a decent piece of gear

I'm a Traktor mapping fool, so I don't mind doing the actual mapping --- just wondering how the communication with the software is.

Instant Doubles for the NS6 was not included in ITCH 1.8.1 (final) as there was a lot of issues with it. Serato and Numark decided to remove it before shipping and work on it some more. It will ship with the next version of ITCH.
We thought it'd be better to spend time getting things right for 2.0 and not trying to fluff the feature and ship a substandard feature with 1.8.1, or as the case would have been, delay 1.8.1 more (which was the only way to get that feature into 1.8.1, and this would have delayed 2.0).
Hope you guys understand.

Yeah I've been checking his site all day. Funny thing is the Guitar Center next to my house had a poster up of the NS6 being available at 7pm. Im guessing that's the time the demos were being done at other stores. At 6:30pm they had 2 unclaimed and one on display. They told all folks to come after 7pm if they wanted to buy it.

Could you not tell by the buzz on the Forums/Youtube that this was gonna fly off the shelves, and that you were going to need to mass produce them from the "get go"?
It's ABSOLUTELY ridiculous that some of us pre-ordered these months ago, and still have to wait an additional month or two (after it's release) to get them.
Sorry to be so harsh, it's just how I feel.

LOL....Gizmo, get it out whenever you can.
Listen, to an extent I sympathize with Numark......perhaps they weren't sure that there would be such a demand for the NS6. I mean, we are in a down economy right now. After thinking about it, I have behaved rather harshly....and to any Numark reps that might read this, I apologize for my rush to judgment.
Also, I neglected (in my first post) to give recognition to Numark's - Direct Sales Manager, Damien Anderson. Many companies don't even bother to keep their customers informed when there are disturbances with stock/manufacturing/shipment/etc.., and Mr. Anderson was right on it....day one! Obviously displaying to us all, just how superb Numark's dedication to customer service really is. So, Mr. Anderson, I sincerely apologize if I caused you any grief by posting that email.
After talking to a friend that manages a Guitar Center, he informed me that Numark is already in the process of shipping more out, and those of us that are still waiting should have ours in no time.
I can't wait.......this controller is going to be so dope.

Apple, the biggest tech company in the world, with over $60 BILLIONS cash, can't meet demand of iPads because of production/supply bottlenecks. Do you think it's easy to ramp up production of an electronic item? Do you think the Taiwanese manufacturers would build new facilities only to meet initial demand of the NS6?

I worked for Apple and demand makes things worth more. unlike the NS6 demand, Apple KNOWS that there is high demand for their products. Working there allowed me to realize this and to always wait unless you REALLY NEED something.
NS6 on the other hand, i got lucky because this was coming out right when I was planning to get one, and luckily I did get one.

Yep, as I feared: Nintendo-style marketing, buzz via scarcity. I have contempt for it, personally, but it's the only reason Nintendo has a North American market at all, so my hat's off to Numark if they can make it work.

revancheX
10:39 PM - 2 June, 2011
There is SOME MERIT to this. I am sure the combination of the tsunami in Japan and other difficult economic conditions makes it difficult to get components. But there's no denying the Nintendo angle, either.
However, the Apple case is clearly different. Apple seriously underestimated demand for the iPad AND CONTINUES TO. There's no school of financial due diligence that could have led them to believe they'd have this level of demand for either 1gen or 2gen iPads. In fact, skeptics for months said they'd be buried in inventory. No comparison at all.
We're not talking about a product even within two orders of magnitude of the iPad in terms of volume. It's more of an issue of due diligence, and also good reviews + scarcity = profit as Nintendo has proven for nearly 30 years now.

Apple, the biggest tech company in the world, with over $60 BILLIONS cash, can't meet demand of iPads because of production/supply bottlenecks. Do you think it's easy to ramp up production of an electronic item? Do you think the Taiwanese manufacturers would build new facilities only to meet initial demand of the NS6?There is SOME MERIT to this.

No, you're absolutely right, Cerla. I totally jumped the gun, and behaved like a spoiled brat that didn't get his toy. These are facts I (initially) didn't take into consideration.......I was pissed and I flew off the handle!
I was looking over the comments in this thread and Kraal made one that stuck out to me -
Then after mulling it over, I remembered how Apple had all those issues getting the iPads out to people, and thought if a multi-billion dollar company like Apple could have had these issues, then certainly Numark could as well.
Listen, I'm not so arrogant that I can't admit when I am wrong. It wasn't very cool of me to start my own personal crusade against Numark, but in my defense, I was reacting out of raw emotion, and not rationality.
It won't happen again.
Sorry, Numark :/

Don't be TOO hard on yourself, man. Hype + scarcity is a time-honored tactic. Just don't blame Numark for inventing it. :P

Yup, he wasn't THAT arrogant after all! easy bro :) BTW I don't think any company would intentionally lose the impulse sales that a hyped launch may provide...
I've called my reference shop, they called Numark and it looks like the Italian shipment will arrive on June 20th, and it's not sold out yet (meaning the shops can order several units).

Thanks at least in part to your work I've been saying "WHERE TF IS THIS THING ALREADY" for what, 3 months?
For every sale you lose from impulse, you get ten more from a DJ telling his friends "man look at that sweet gadget over there. BUT YOU CAN'T GET ONE, THEY'RE SOLD OUT LIKE CONSTANTLY." Then everyone else thinks "wow, if they're constantly sold out, they must be that good."
Trust me, Nintendo did this for EVERY SINGLE CONSOLE, from the NES to the Wii. And unlike the NS6, the Wii was a piece of junk. Essentially unchanged from a GameCube except for a processor upgrade and a fancy (but flaky) input device that was all but obviated by Sony and Microsoft within 2 years. Who talks about the Wii now? 90% of them sit in entertainment centers covered in dust, unused months, while everyone in the room is playing Dance Central on the Xbox.
Yet I'm half-convinced that if tomorrow, Nintendo polished a brick and put a Bluetooth controller in it they'd sell 10 million of them. But not all at once, that's for sure!
Back to the NS6--well, unlike Nintendo, Numark is actually kind of interesting and visionary. Heck, even in March, the local Guitar Center was selling every NS7FX they could get in the store within hours. And I *still* haven't found anywhere local where I could buy a V7.
It'll work, but it will irritate the hell out of several of us. And we'll buy it anyway, because we're masochists like that.
(But I got mine, much to the relief of my local GC's Pro Audio manager.)

My friend ordered the NS6 from 2 different sites last night but ended up cancelling because he found one at a local Guitar Center. We live in LA. That might be a reason why it may be more available.

I chose to get 15% off at said retailer. This is because I am not smart.

Yeah, but if I were to get 15% off of the NS6, from my (semi) local Guitar Center, it still would have been better purchasing it online. Taxes are a bitch, and I would have to factor in gasoline to drive there & back....it's 72 miles away.
......though purchasing at a Brick & Mortar is nice because you get to walk out w' the gear.....instant gratification!!! Also, it makes potential returns waaaay easier too!!
I got the NS6 & The Odyssey case as a package deal....it was cheap, and
in my opinion worth the wait.

So did I because online were backordered. But had it been in stock online, I would've gotten 15% off plus no tax.

Hype the product up, then make the djs wait b/c they wanta create more hype then once u get it u can't even talk to numark for support, u have to come here for support... It's a cycle that saddens me as a customer and feel like my ns7 was revolutionary ideed, but was the hype worth it sera to/numark? I'm thinking ur ns6 isn't coming because they can't get itch 2.0 stable for all users.

Read the rest of the forum I'm not crazy.... Someone will listen if u yell loud enough. My ns7 allows me to show off my skills. I'm grateful for numark and sera to. But When the system goes crazy u make me look stupid. I'm serious about saying something now. Ur going to start to lose customers if u dont hurry to fix the bugs and sync function. Not to mention other softwares has implemented video to the ns7. How come u guys can't do it then? Also if bridge can work with seartossl but not with itch... What is this about? Serious questions Have to be answered...

Haha no they don't anymore... And they used to but the guy that focused on ns7 support was a total dick over the phone. Finally one day I called numark with a30 min wait. Then I relized numark probably fired him. At least u hope.
