ok its february now - ive had my xone dx for nearly a year - a year or more back i was excited to learn about the bridge.
Then i was appauled when it was never released for itch months ago.
I was told that it would be available in the new year. Well guess what people - ITS the new year - very well into it - any sign of the bridge for itch??? - no of course not - that would be far too good for us 2nd class itch users.
So here i am again posting on this board - waiting for this to be released.
You would think that with the plethora of new controllers out there now that Serato would pull their fingers out and get this released. But no - i have to write another angry post on here - how many do i have to write before i can actually write something nice????
As i said last time - im loosing my patience rapidly with itch - and it crashed AGAIN (Buttons froze) the last time i used it in public.......

Hi Shonkyboy.
I'm sorry you are feeling frustrated. The Bridge for ITCH was announced to be released sometime in 2011. Sorry if you are not willing to wait - hopefully you can find a solution now that you are happy with.
We are of course working hard on getting many things out to ITCH users - we are certainly not sitting on our hands. We certainly can't work any harder than we are, angry post or not (it would be nice if this was something that helped programmers program faster!).
As for your freeze - if you want help with this, please provide as much information as possible, with your full computer specs and Dj setup, and we will be more than happy to help you out.
Cheers!
Matt

No worries Matt - its that im itching to get my hands on the Bridge and it seems like years since it was annonced.
It was one of the reasons i chose Itch over Traktor and also the controller choice - but i feel frustrated that its a seemingley never ending wait.
The crashes i get are regular - its not windows crashing - but itch - it becomes unresponsive at times (wont load stuff or the pitch wont change amongst other things) and i regularly have to resart at least once a night - the trouble is as well when i resart (power on and off) the Xone i get a HUGE pop bang though the speakers which is really annoying and scared the life out of one lass last time i did it.
I suppose im going to have to make note of exactly what happend and when , but as its early in the year my Djing out is less than it would be at peak times.
The last time i asked about this (the Bridge) I was lead to believe that it would be out early in the new year - so again i looked the other morning and still no news - do you have any kind of indication when we can expect a beta or something?
I think the lack of progress reports on the site also make people like me more frustrated. What i dont want is to get to December and still see no sign of this - i think my cheese would slide right of my cracker at that point.
i think its a case of no news is bad news if you get my drift. :)

The problem with The Bridge is the announcement to work with Ableton was very early in the game, we'd only just started sitting down with them. So then people automatically started asking us when when when. Which is totally fair enough. We then worked hard and got stage one of The Bridge out for Scratch Live users - this was a massive task, loads of new technology had to be made and tested. We also announced The Bridge before it was fully ready, so took anther while to get into beta/public's hands.
We did kind of break our rule - which is not to announce software until it's ready, but the announcement for working with Ableton was treated as a software announcement, so this has added a LOT of time onto people (ie. yours) frustration! So sorry about that.
As for the development, we're back to following our rule and working hard to deliver the software, but not wanting to speculate publicly on time - as many things can cause projects to be delayed, many which are not easily controlled. So we want to be sure that when we announce it it will be out for users shortly after in a robust state.
In saying this, we do have a LOT of cool things coming up for ITCH users so there'll be plenty of cool things for you before, during and after The Bridge :D
Right - so onto your problem...
Yeah, it's very hard to know what's going on as crashes, and these kinds of problems can be caused by several things (corrupt tracks in your library, bad database, bugs, conflicting resource requirements etc).
So I'd first suggest that you go into Offline Player and analyze all your files, in the ALL... crate sort by the first column and see if there's any corrupt tracks.
Do you use an external hard drive?
Do you use any other USB devices or hubs?
What are your computer specs?
You can also get crash logs as in this article: www.serato.com
We can hopefully get you up and running smoothly :D

Ok its over 18 months now since the bridge was announced and 9 months since it was released. Truoble is either im going blind or i still can see anything relating to it for itch. so I wondered if it was every actually going to come out at all?? I have a traktor s4 now so I want to know if its worth while keeping my xone dx - or should i take it to the next car boot sale??

It'll come out someday, but no one knows when. If Serato officially announces a date, it may not come out on that exact deadline but one thing's for sure, it's coming.
