I've been using my Xone DX for 3 weeks now. Everything was working well until now....I've been using the XLR (balanced) outputs since I've gotten the unit and it sound really clean. But today, I needed to hook it up using RCA (unbalanced) outputs. I tried it on 2 separate systems that works well. All of the RCA outputs have a distorted or almost like a grounded sound to it when the volume is at zero or low, of course when you increase the volume - sound comes out and the distortion or grounded sound disappears (gets covered by the music). But I can't always use XLR outputs and I need the RCA outputs if I want to use the booth/monitor outputs, do recording or simply use RCA master outputs whenever the system I am hooking up to does not support balanced (XLR) inputs.

I've done some research and read a lot of the post here - but I didn't find anything about this issue I am having.

Please help.

Thanks,

DJ Cedric

Hey DJ Cedric,

Have you tried swapping out your RCA cables? Also how long are these? The longer the cable the more opportunity there is for noise to be introduced. If these are running past any speakers or power outlets and are unshielded cables there can be current induced and this can create some noise in the system also.
