I am attempting to figure out how to search songs to find them on my external drive. I have 500 gig worth of music on an external drive, but when I atempt to use the search box within ITCH, it doesn't seem to search the external drive for the song. Could you tell me how I can go about doing that so that ITCH will locate the song on the external drive.

Hey Thomas,

The search function in ITCH only searches songs that you have added to the ITCH library and not the drive itself. Have you imported these files first?

Hello; Thanks for responding. I do see that the search feature searches songs within the library but I'm not really sure how to add the songs from the EXTERNAL drove( music is located in many different folders and sub folders) to the ITCH library. I would think that adding 450 gig worth of music from the external drive TO the ITCH library will take up a lot of space on my computers internal drive no? How do I go about adding the folders and subfolders located on the EXTERNAL drive to my ITCH library?

Basically you will need to drag your external drives music folders onto the "all" crate. This will add the files to the ITCH library and will probably take a while if you have a large amount of music. This shouldn't take up too much space as it doesn't add the files to the library but instead just adds an entry into the database which tells Scratch Live where the file is on your hard drive.

This database gets loaded to RAM though when you open Scratch Live though so with a very large library it will slow down your computer a bit. If you do not want to add all your tracks in the library you could always use the search function in the Windows explorer?
