I have a FAST INTEL based PC with 4g of RAM and I have encountered some songs that Stop EVERY time I play them, USUALLY very popular songs that pack the dancefloor. Is this a known issue or am I dealing with corrupted files?

HI DJ Scary G.

What you are experiencing is USB dropouts, where data is being lost somewhere in your computer's USB architecture, often because the operating system is prioritizing another task or function elsewhere that shouldn't be happening.

Here's an article for the basic tweaks to get your computer setup well for live audio use: www.serato.com

Let me know how you get on, if you're still experiencing issues we can look a bit closer to what is causing the problem.

Cheers.

I added 8 GB of DDR2 800 to my system and it has helped. I also changed the UBS cable. This REALL should be a Firewire device. That would enable simultaneous recording ot serato on the same PC if they were to simply add recording to the software....

I am now using 1.5, and it works great.

You can record inside any ITCH product that mixes internally. Because the HC5000 doesn't, you would have to send a recording signal back into the computer's soundcard, this would then require you to record that signal in an audio application. It woudln't matter if the HC5000 was connected by USB or Firewire, the audio would still need to come from a mixer to another device, since in other ITCH hardware the audio is mixed in the software, so it doesn't even need to go to the hardware before it can be recorded.
