FX CUE (SHIFT Mode)
Pressing SHIFT and the SELECT EFFECT button will send the effected signal to audition on your headphones.
FX CUE is useful to audition the effect before bringing it into the mix when the effect is switched
off. When FX CUE is active the LED will flash.
****I am unable to preview FX in the headphones as stated in the manual. Only wat to preview is live. Cannot preview the FX thru CUE??? Someone/Anyone help??

Hi luckee_d.
This should send the effected signal to the headphones.
When the effect is off do the following:
Make sure sure the channel has the effect sent to the corresponding effects unit (ie. FX1 or FX2).
Press SHIFT+SELECT EFFECT.
The depth knob will adjust the effect depth in the headphone CUE, allowing you to audition the effect before pressing ON and making the effect live.
NOTE: This works for all effects apart from Echo and Reverb as they buffer differently (so you will only hear the track as it normally is, with no effect).

Hi again Matt-C. I tried your instructions above and still no success. I have channel 1 set to FX Unit 1. Cued a track on channel 1 and pressed shift + select effect. The led blinks as stated in the manual but I am still unable to preview the effect. I tried every effect and have the same outcome. Any ideas? Thanks again

What effect are you trying to preview? Where is the depth knob set to?

I have tried every effect and have the depth from 50-100%. The effects work fine live, they are just unable to be previewed. Thx

All I hear is the track playing as normal. It is as if just cueing/previewing. The olny way to preview the effect is to bring it in the mix live. Hardware/software?

So the ON/OFF button is set to off (no light illuminated) and adjusting the depth knob to 50% or 100% on say, Flanger, does not preview the track with the effect?
Make sure the channel CUE light is off.

Hi Matt-C, Your last sentence was the KEY!!! "Make sure the channel CUE light is off".
I was under the impression that you can preview an effect on a cued track (not live in the mix) si I was trying to preview the effect prior to making it live on a track that was in cue.
So it works as it states afterall, I am able to preview an effect on a live track in the mix, and then bring it in with the ON/OFF button, although it would be cool if we could also preview an effect on the track(s) in cue. I appreciate your help with this matter. You Rock!!! +1

It will preview any track that is being sent to FX1 - so if you are playing a track on Deck 1 and it is in the mix, but have a track on Deck 3 and Deck 4 both of which are playing, but NOT in the mix, you can preview these as long as they have FX1 selected by using the FX CUE. You can't send separate tracks to the effects unit one by one, as it processes all the tracks that are sent to it at once.
Hope that makes more sense.

HI Matt-C, I am a little lost as to your last post. The only way I can preview FX is while a track is live with FX Cue. If I have a track playing on deck 1 (live in the mix) and a second track playing on deck 2 (not in the mix/not cued), I will then assign deck 2 to effects unit 1 or 2 and the press FX CUE to the appropriate FX unit. But I get no output on the headphones. The only way to get the music into the headphones is to press the channel CUE/THRU button. But then I cannot preview the FX as stated in my previous post. It seems as if the only way I can preview FX is to a deck that is live in the mix. Am I doing something wrong again?? Thanks.

Hope that makes more sense.
Hi again, I have tried quite a few times today and it still is not working. To the scenario you gave above, deck 3 and deck 4 are not heard in the headphones unless the CUE/THRU button is pressed. Still only able to preview FX on tracks that are live in the mix. ??? :(
