I was wanting to know the right procedure to reset the beatgrid if you start messing with it and just mess it up? I need to reconsult the manual and videos, but I think they only cover happy path from what I recall.
I still need to work the process when adjusting the beatgrid. I did it some how, but not sure I can repeat yet. ;) So far all mine has worked out just fine, and if not it was beacuse I did something to it accidentially.
So a reverse coarse procedure would be great. Any help?

there are a few ways i found... although im not a pro so not sure if these are the best ideas....
1) simply re-analyze the file... as far as im aware, this resets the beatgrid to what itch feels is the best.... then you can adjust as you wish
2) using the shift+clr (set) button on the dx, you can remove beatgrids one by one... by pressing this until all the grid is clear then simply start again by pressing set on the first beat and then adjusting the rest to the following beats or even just press set on every beat if the song is not exactly in time throughout...
sorry if thats all a bit confusing....
the manual is pretty good at explaining this... you can just start from the beginning and just adjust the beatgrid as it should be... really no need to reset anything.. just edit.. (if that makes sense)

on #1 - how do you do this with the controller connected? My afterthought on this is just drag and drop the track to the deck over again?
#2 - ya, sort of figured this out.
I probably just need to print the couple of pages that talks about this so I can walk through it a few times. That is the issue of having a softcopy of the manual... you try and go off memory.
Ya, my request to understand how to reset is just incase while I am new if I mess something up that was fine to begin with (did it once in practice), what is the easist and safest way to reset the beat grid.

If you look at my topic you see I have trouble with grids to.
Re-analyze does not reset the grid in my case. I an aware re-analyzing must be done with the ctrl key pressed in the of-line mode.
Deleting the grid did not help me either.

Hi DJChad72.
How are you getting on? Manage to get more info from the manual?
Let me know what you are still wanting to know and I'll help out asap.
Cheers.

Hi Matt, I am sorry have so many question across many threads. Let me know if it would be better to consolidate. :)
I have not tried retrace the sets to get a beatgrid reanalyzed. So I am still lacking. I understand better how to adjust the beatgrid and will learn better as I go, but this would be a handle little procedure as I do not see it outlined in the manual after a few hunts for it.

Not a problem. We're here to help... in some ways consolidation could be good....
Although if you feel that you are getting the help in each area you want then that's also good, rather than trying to start over.
As for the beatgrid.
To delete a beatgrid, press SHIFT+SET (ie. CLR) as many times until the beatgrid disappears.
Then find the first beat, and press SET - this will create a Downbeat Marker (the first marker of the Beatgrid) and will use the analyzed BPM value to try and place the Beatgrid perfectly over the track.
If that doesn't quite fit, you can old down Adjust and use the platter to expand or contract the Beatgrid - this will expand/contract from the last Set Beat Marker (or the Downbeat Marker if no other markers are set).
If you need to add more Beat Markers, find a beat, and press SET. This will snap the Maker to the closest transient, and warp the Beatgrid around this for best fit.
For tracks that change tempo, you may need to do this multiple times.
Or to clear a single Beat Marker get the playhead close to it and press SHIFT+SET to clear that single marker.
Does that help a little more?
