Product: itch
Hardware: allen-heath-xonedx
Computer: mac
OS Version: 10.6.3

right, the other night (thankfully at the beginning of the night) while playing through itch with the dx, i put a cd in my laptop hoping to play a track and it crashed itch.. needing to force quit.
impressively the music carried on playing long enough for me to switch to backup (in house music player)
i think it crashed because when i put the cd in, itunes automatically started in the background.
2nd issue is when loading a track from the prepare folder you cant use the load button on the dx.. u have to manually drag n drop. just wondering if this will be changed in future? not that much of a problem as i hardly ever use the prepare folder

I think this was reported as a non issue somewhere.
Net time try and send us the Crash log, this will help the Dev's as to what was the cause of the crash.

Hi cnewton.
1st issue - we strongly recommend users not to launch/run other software when running ITCH. Most audio programs are the same, as there is some sharing of computer resources, and iTunes may have been trying to 'take over' something to cause a crash. Just go into your iTunes preferences and make sure that iTunes doesn't automatically try to import a CD or load up.
As for the prepare window - I am loading tracks fine here. Can you please give me the exact steps you are going through to try and load a track from the prepare area? I will try to re-create this. If it is a bug it'd be good to know!
Cheers.

cheers matt, i completely understand about multi programs and have already taken steps to avoid in the future..
as for the prepare area...
step 1 - normal mixing from crate folders when i decide to put a track in prepare area by dragging and dropping on prepare icon as i intend to play the particular track in a couple songs time....
continue playing out of crate folders....
step 2 - open prepare folder with mouse.... click (with mouse) on the track that is in the folder... then use the dx to load the track with the 'load' button....
and this is where instead of loading the track from the prepare folder, it loads the track that is highlighted in the crate folder below...
hope this makes sense....
i have only used the prepare area during sets so i might set my dx up at home and have a play and see if i can see what works....

Cool - cheers for this.
I can reproduce this issue using the above steps.
This is a bug, it will be fixed in the next ITCH release. But for now a workaround would be using the mouse rather than the DX load buttons to load.
Thanks. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Hey Cnewton,
I wish I read this before my wedding last night.........I did exactly the same thing last night and ITCH froze hard. Real hard...Couldn't switch through a thru channel for backup....Had to use the direct input with an ipod and VCI-300 saved me after switching from the Xone DX. So so so embarrassed.....plus I had two of my DJ friends with me......They are now totally turned off by my Xone DX and now I look like an ASS....
No need to report a bug...... because my Xone DX will SIT in a case collecting dust for the next 3 months...or whenever the next version comes out.....

Sorry to hear you had the same problem! :-(
The next version isn't too far off however, so keep an eye on the forums for the beta.
