Product: itch
Hardware: allen-heath-xonedx
Computer: mac
OS Version: 10.6.3
---
When I start a track it plays too fast like the platter speed is turned way up, I haven't changed the speed, its still at 33.
I have changed the speed up and then back, and I uninstalled and reinstalled ITCH too, but the problem is still present. Also reset the soundcard but nothing.
The tracks play like they should offline, its just when the DX is connected??????
Any ideas lads?
Thanks

Hi Bov.
Can you click 45, then click 33 again - does that make a difference?
When you load a track to a deck, what does the virtual decks' PITCH say?

Hey Matt,
No, no difference when I change them.
The pitch is at 0, even if I set the pitch to -8 it still plays too fast.

Check the sample rate of the audio interface in system settings (Audio/MIDI Control App). The DX hardware supports 96k, but ITCH runs at 44.1 (or is it 48? I'm not in front of my hardware to double check). If your DX in the OS has been switched to 96k, ITCH doesn't seem to recognize this and tracks play in superspeed. (At least I'm guessing it doesn't check for this, based on my experience with the offline player. See next paragraph.)
This problem happens when using the offline player and you are going through a device that is running at a higher sample rate. I have personally run into this problem with the offline player when I have my laptop hooked up to my Denon DN-X1700 as the default audio output as the Denon normally operates at 96k.

Thanks for your help lads,
A few other problems came up, so I'm gonna have to send it back to A&H

You don't want to try and troubleshoot the problems first? Could be simple things?

I got on to A&H about it and they said a service engineer will have to take a look at the unit because my laptop won't pick it up anymore, and I can't install the firmware either.
Pain in the butt sending it back, but that's what they said anyway
