Hey guys...

right, i received my xone dx this morning and have spent the day playing and testing it...

apart from issues that have already been mentioned in the forum.. one thing that i havent seen anyone comment about it the keylock....

i have always used keylock and found that serato scratch live was awsome and never had any problems with the sound..

however using itch, iv noticed when playing a song... sometimes it just sounds like its slowing down and then speeding up constantly...sounds subtly like an old record player.lol at the same time sounding like its really cold and shivvering... not sure how else to describe it.... its not major but its a bit annoying.. iv tried changing the buffer to 20 and still no luck.. seems to only happen on some songs... havent seen a patten yet...(its not corrupt files either)

apart from that iv also noticed a slight crosstalk when switching on the effects.. but i think thats just me being picky..


ummm.oh and when analyzing files... it crashes on long songs such as mixes (70min) wud stop on the last bar and freeze...


any help wud be great... i understand we are all waiting on the updated software... just hope it comes soon :)

Hey cnewton,

I've had that problem before. Well I think it's not actually a problem. You have to turn off sync by pressing SHIFT+Autotempo. It's trying to beat sync the other track...and it has to do with the grid.....I would read the manual about this stuff.....it helps so much

I know it's weird but maybe its suppose to do that????(Anyone Serato)

played live last nite with my dx... had 2 sound drops for about half second... screen froze as well... buffer is set to 20...

all in all i was happy with the dx! it didnt let me down as much as i thought it wud.lol

still cant wait for an update, i dont feel comfortable dj with no confidence in my equipment...

Hi cnewton.

The keylock is the same on both programs - so what you are experiencing may be something else.
It may be the beatgrid/syncing - are you using auto-tempo or Sync functions at all?

If you beatgrid 2 tracks perfectly and then mix these at different tempos, do you get this wavering?

Hi sorry for the slow reply..

right iv done a recording to help u see whats going on...

its a loop playing continually starting jut before the drop so u can hear when its looping.. at about 35seconds... i turn keylock on... (no sync or beatgrid on at all) running at -3% pitch... so when i switch keylock on, ul notice the pitch rise.

the funny thing is i have only been able to reproduce this with this song.. others seem fine but theres the odd track here n there...


so maybe its just this song that it has issues with.. if so .. why???lol

Great - thanks heaps for this.

Our keylock algorithm may be treating this track badly, which would explain why this track sounds rubbish and the others cool.

If you are able to upload this track to us, we can use this to improve the keylock, this is a fairly uncommon occurrence, so we really appreciate you taking the time to help us :D

the track i uploaded was just one that was the worst of the lot.. but in general every now and then a track will sound awfull with keylock...

its annoying as i like to key mix, so keylock plays a massive part in this!
