I am using version 1.5 on Mac OS 10.5.8. I analised all of my files. I have a ton of corrupt files(about 400 files). All of the files say contain invalid audio data. This seams to be caused by a space at the end of track. I have previosly used pcdj dex and fx. Could this be why I have a problem. All of the songs I aded to my library are on the internal hard drive.
Thank you

Hi Tim R,

PCDJ DEX shouldn't be the problem. If you delete the space at the end of some of those tracks and analyze them again, do they still show up as corrupt?

Where did you purchase those tracks? You may want to contact the store/ online dealer and complain about the condition of those files.

These corrupt tracks are from(ex promo only, tm century). I have never had a problem till I transferred them onto my mac hard drive. Is there a free or cheap program I can use to eliminate the gaps at the end of the song. Thanks for your help

Ok, thanks for the information. Unfortunately, I don't know about a program which could delete the space at the end of several tracks.

Are those tracks playing when you delete the space at the end?
Where did you have those files before you transfered them to your Mac?

I cannot delete the space without the program(huh) I had the files on an exernal pc drive(WD) before i moved them to mac internal drive. The tracks play-I would just like to get rid of the 400 or so currupt files out of 55000 on my itch program. This is the reason I have moved from pc to mac and pcdj to serato. I don't want to deal with these problems. I need software that is reliable.

Sorry, my previous post was confusing. I thought you were looking for a program which is able to delete spaces at the end of several tracks at the same time. My fault.

A space at the end of the track shouldn't corrupt the file. Anyway, you could try editing the file with this freeware: Audacity audacity.sourceforge.net
But that's probably not an option for 400 tracks anyway.

What format are those 400 files?
Can you upload one of those files to this thread? I'd like to take a closer look at it.

Are you saying the same files didn't show up as corrupt when you scanned them, while they were still on your external hard drive?

Thank you for the file.

You are right, this file contains invalid audio data, but I'm pretty sure that it's not the space at the end, as most tracks have a similar spaces and are not corrupt. It might rather be that the file is suboptimal encoded, which happens with promo files sometimes.

The manual explains the error message as follows: "Scratch Live encountered invalid data while looking for audio in this file. This message alerts you to the fact that the file you're trying to play contains corrupt data. This may, or may not, affect playback."

That means you might be able to play these files but we rather suggest removing them from your library, to keep Scratch Live stable.

Have a look at this page for an easy way to get rid of those files: serato.com
