Hi
i`m a Denon user since ages now, and it took me a while to believe that using a software based Dj is better than CD`S.
Well the truth the matter is not true at all
i`ve have purchased DN-HC5000, installed the software on a dell XPS M1730, and this lapto is dedicated for the use of ITCH only nothing else, fresh install, etc...intel t8300 CPU Duo core, 4 gig of ram at 667 250 gig HD @ 7200 RPM, 512 nivida 8700 gt video card, 1920 X 1200
the bottom line is that , this software is a joke, i`ve been using it for 3 dasy now, and i still can`t get used to the delays , once i load the song, hit play there`s a delay, try to hit cue many times to make sampling effect there`s a delay, tryied to use the hot start the way i use them on my denon dn-d9000 there`s delays, and other major thing that i really find it a joke in this software, it`s a waste of money, i think serato has lots of issues to be addressed, i only widh they`ve done it befor releasing it to the public so they can practice with us and waste our valuable time & money, starting today i`m selling the unit , what a shame forgot to mention that i have tried ITCH on my dell precision workstation 690, this is an extremly fast unit with quad core xeon , etc.... same thing, same problem.

Not sure what your problem is but you should give Serato support a chance to correct your issue.

I have a VCI-300 and a HC5000, my operation is flawless, no delay at all. I couldn't be happier along many other satisfied users.

not sure what my problem is? well i have a big problem with the way this software works, you know what, i`m going to a local store that sells DJ gears, and they have one over there, i`ll check it out to see if mine only acts this way or all ITCH, and then, i`ll put a video camera and film the problems that i have since some times it is so hard to explain unless u hear and see the problem, trust me i know that for a fact that it has some delays issues, i`ll prove them to u on the camera, and i`ll post it on you tube and send u the link, and then u can compare ur self and u`ll see that u have same problem but ur not aware of it, and u`ll thank me for that.

Please do but keep in mind I'm just trying to help you.

Trust me, I have little to no latency. From my experience ITCH is the most responsive of the Midi controller/Software combinations I've used. And also from my experience it's just as responsive as my Denon HD2500 running standalone.

With all that said there seems to be more issues with Windows based computers. What is the USB buffer set to? Consider running a selective Windows startup using msconfig as a test. Disable all you startup items and limit the services to just Microsoft services and see how that works for you.

Lastly, make sure your running Itch 1.5.

Calm down and work through the problem.

One other thing, make sure all the music in your library is analyzed.

Hi DJ Montreal,

Sorry to hear you have been having problems. I'm sure we can help you fix them though.

To start with, lets address the latency. What size is your USB buffer set to in the setup screen?

Hello
Just to let u know that i went to the store where they sell DJ gear, etc...
i`ve tried their unit, it`s the same thing, and the sales man explain to me that, all controllers has this latency, he meant all brand names all kinds.
So i`m not sure if it`s still worth it make that video that i told u about in order to prove my self to u guys

thanx

Hi Dj Montreal.

This is a native controller, meaning the protocol that the hardware tallks to the software with should be extremely fast with no latency (well, no noticeable latency!).
I think the guy at the store was talking about normal DVS styled controllers (where the analog signal coming in to the software has to be interpreted and then spit back out gaining some latency, or delay between what you do to the hardware to what happens to the audio output).

If you can let us know what your USB latency is set to (Setup Screen) that would help

A video of this issue would also be excellent - we can hopefully get to the bottom of this asap for you.

Thanks.

It depends more on the internal USB data throughput than any power of the CPU or how much RAM a computer has.

I'd firstly start off by doing the audio optimization in this article:
www1.serato.com

Also this is a good article on how to set up Windows for good audio performance, there are a number of basic Windows functions that can conflict with audio streaming applications). This is for Vista, but the basics are the same for Windows 7. Go here:
www.serato.com

Once you have done this, can you try lowering the USB buffer down (the lower you go the quicker the response, but the more intensive this is on your computer), until you are getting good latency, but if you get any USB dropouts/glitches then you may need to raise the buffer a bit.

Let me know how you get on.
Cheers.
