I had to create another user account on my laptop, and now I don't know how to access the library from the master account. I've been able to disable User Account Control, and I created a shortcut to ssl. when i opened ssl from the new user account, my library is totally empty. When I try to navigate to the folder where I know the music is, I can't open the folder. am I gonna have to move all my music, or can I just have ssl "look across" user accounts?

I would get your computer fixed and sorted out now. It sounds like you are digging a deeper hole that will eventually collapse on you as well. Personally, I would get it fixed now instead of speding more time getting this right only to have your original problem come back to do the same thing again. It seems like this permissions issue can and will bite you again.

Get my computer fixed??? It's not broken... I just had to create another user account for personal reasons... I'm kinda lost on the "support" that you gave me.

Why can't you access the master account. Use that if you can.

Mr. Walker, I'm sorry about the direction of the first response. It sounds like we were on different directions with the problem. I've seen in the past computers that have caught viruses and that has caused people to create other accounts. As time goes on it corrupts each new user account they make. I assumed uncorrectly this could have been the case.

After seeing your post of "computer fixed?" I can easily see the error. I've found from past experience that Scratch Live runs with less problems and more efficiently from the C: drive. Some problems reading folders and crates can arise as you have seen. Also I have seen complications arise when people download music and it goes to the C: drive. They import it from there and put it into a crate that also has music from the new partition. That can cause crates to get jumbled and out of wack.

It is relatively easy to move things from one drive to another or in your case from one users account to another. The main things we are after is 1) your music and 2) the ScratchLIVE and ScratchLIVE Backup folders.

The ScratchLIVE folder holds the order for your crates and history session. That is the important folder it reads every time it opens and updates every time you close. The ScratchLIVE Backup folder is something that usually is written too once per week. That is good to have incase something happened to your crates or current library.

You should be able to find that folder in your old account under Start / Music. You will want to take them from one user account to the other and place it in the same location. After you have done that and transferred the music, rescan the ID3 tags inside of Scratch Live. If the files turn pink, that is O.K. Then use the Relocate Lost Files tab and it should restore the file paths for you.

I'm still shooting a little in the dark on the solutions but I'm pretty confident we can find one for you. Let me know what direction you were taking and we will get you up and running from there. ;)
