Can't Record + int.mode + gain button on Rane hardware

Hi again!

I have 3 questions:

1) I can't record.. I did it like in the manual. Push the red icon to start => then stop the recording => type in a name and push the save button. Ok works fine but when i play the recorden file a don't get any sound or somthimes a beeeeep..

Do you have to connect more cables? or what do you have to chose from the drop down list ? mic or 1 in or 2 in ? tried afrything..

2) When i'm playing music in rel. mode it somthimes automatic switches to int. mode ?

3) I know serato does the software but I have a question about the hardware from rane. There is a Gain button on the hardware what does it do?

The SL1 isn't designed to record your mixes straight out of the box - check out this article for more info: www.serato.com (click)

This is emergency Int mode, which happens when you reach the end of the control CD or vinyl, it's designed to protect you from having the music cut out and the end of the disc.

That is the Microphone gain.
