I'm heartbroken. My VCI-300 operates for just a few minutes before freezing and crashing.

I bought the VCI-300 when I was visiting home (Texas) over Christmas and have brought it back with me to use where I live (Cape Town, South Africa). I have an HP Pavillion dv7 Notebook PC with AMD Turion(tm) X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-72 2.10 GHz, 4.00 GB RAM, 64-bit Operating System. I just read that these things (AMD and 64-bit) are likely what is making the VCI-300 not work. I realistically cannot purchase another computer right now and would appreciate any advice regarding how I can try to work around this. Is there a beta version of Itch I should download that could help ease some of these problems? Any other suggestions?

I did read this but it has no reference to the VCI-300 and it doesn't address my AMD issue:
* Windows 7 64-bit drivers for the Numark NS7 and the Numark V7 are in testing. Beta drivers are available for download: serato.com
** Windows Vista 64-bit drivers for the Numark V7 are in testing. Beta drivers are available for download: serato.com

Additional information:
I'm running Itch 1.5.
I have plugged an external drive into the USB port adjacent to the USB port used for my VCI-300.

Thank you so much for any advice you can give me!

Hi Jeannie,

We can try a few things, But the AMD TURION is listed as a non working chip set.
help.vestax.co.jp

Please make sure all the drivers on your laptop are up to date.

support.amd.com

1.Try using the VCI-300 without your external HD connected and no other USB devices connect.

2.Also your on Vista so in the search bar above the start button type power option
and double click and see what settings your power option is on. Most PC are on balanced power. Please make sure that it is on High performance.

3.Try all USB slots with ITCH running

4. uninstall ITCH make sure ITCH and itunes are close and reinstall.

If it still does not work then the AMD Turion chip set is the issue.

Please keep me posted on this

Thank you,
Carl
