Probably been covered already but I did a search and didn't find anything. Sorry for any redundancy. I remember when the latest version of SL and Video-SL dropped there was some issues with Snow Leopard. Last I heard regular scratch live was all patched up but Video was still a no-no. Is that still the case? I picked up a copy months ago and have been sitting on it. Thinking of going for the Scratch Live 2.0 beta and Video-SL 1.1 beta as well... All Snow Leopard compatible?

Seems to be working well for most people. I don't get many........ hardly any support calls for people with problems using Video SL on their MAC. Loads of people are now using Snow Leopard. The main thing is that you are using both of the latest versions of the software.

Awesome. Should I take the extra time and backup EVERYTHING for a clean format install or should an upgrade install be fine? Am I going to need to reinstall Serato or does everything pretty much just stay in place? Thanks!

Are you talking about upgrading / fresh install of Scratch Live or Snow Leopard?
DJ Cubed 11:53 PM - 19 March, 2010
Snow Leopard... Should I reformat or just upgrade? If I upgrade, will I need to reinstall Serato or does everything just stay in place?

Never mind I just did it... Super easy everything seems fine. Thanks :)

Oops... I finally got around to actually spinning some video and notice a lot more lag. Videos will hang for 20+ seconds at a time. Stopping the track from playing, scratching or any other means of giving it time to catch up helps, but even then can take 5-10 seconds to find its place again. Audio is fine, video just has a tendency to hang. Any thoughts? Nothing else has changed on my system recently.

are you using 2.0 and 1.2 or are you using 1.9.2 and 1.1.1?

What are the specs on your computer?

If you open the video tab, in the middle screen there is a set-up button. Click that and it opens three tabs to the right.

In the first tab set your output setting to "medium"

In the second tab set the buffer slider to 2Gb.

Does that make a difference?
DJ Cubed 9:56 AM - 25 March, 2010
No, no difference... Video still hangs as much as before :(

Try playing with the videos I linked below. I know that they are encoded proper. Encoding might be part of the problem.

I mixed for a few hours tonight using those videos over regular MP3s.... No problems with them what so ever. The problem seems to occur on .Mp4 videos I have gotten from various DJ services. 8thWonder and the like...
Files that played fine before are now suffering from the lag. I played a few new videos I had just downloaded in quicktime (not even in SL) and noticed one instance of a video freeze there as well. Does the new Quicktime just suck or something?

Oh hell, I'm a complete idiot. I thought I had upgraded the latest version weeks before installing snow leopard but after a double check i just realized i was NOT running V-SL 1.1.1

I did a quick install and watched a few vids with no problem. I'll actually spend some time spinning tomorrow just to be sure before my Friday night gig but I'm almost 100% this will fix it. Sorry to waste your time dude, I'm a dumbass.

Yeah, that would do it. Glad to see a happy ending here.
