Hi,
I am using Scratch Live on my MacBook (all songs on my internal hard drive).
Under ALL; songs are sorted by date added.
When I add songs from the files menu in Scratch by highlighting the song, holding the apple key and pressing the right or left arrow key to load the track I can see that the song was just added.
When I quit and go back in the songs that I added from files menu with the key command are missing.
The only time songs save is when I drag the song from the explorer window in the finder or from files browser in Scratch onto the player or into the ALL.
So how can I get Scratch live to save songs when I add songs by the command key (apple left or right arrow)?

Are you pulling them from the files window? The browse window? or are they in your actual Scratch Live library?
If you make a crate of 10 songs and then play the 10 songs, close the program, re open it, are there still 10 songs in that crate?
Have you analyzed your files in Scratch Live?
Are they "read only" files?

Hi Chad,
I am loading songs from the files pane in scratch live and also from the browser window in the Mac OS finder by clicking and dragging which works fine.
If I make a crate of 10 songs and play the 10 songs, they will still be there when I open it because I have to drag the songs to that crate.
But if I don't drag the songs to any crate and only add the songs with the command key, the songs aren't under ALL when I reopen.
I anylized the files and they are not read only. I checked the properties of the song and locked is not checked.
So for some reason, anything added with the command key will not be there the next time you go to reopen scratch live.

Yes, you need to actually add them into the library to be there the next time you open it.
Are you using 1.9.2 version? That is how i always load my songs when not on the TTM57. It hasn't happened to me.

I'm using 1.9.2
when you say "I need to actually add them to the library" does this include adding them by yhe command key? Because when i add the songs by command key to the library I see them appear under ALL with the date and time.

If they are in the ALL crate, then yes, they are in the library.
On some PC keyboards the delete key is a left arrow. Are you pressing ctrl and that? That combo would erase a song from the library.
If you go into set-up / library, do you have "protect library" checked?

I'm pressing and holding the apple command (⌘) and the arrow key (←)
I'm using a MacBook
Protect Library is not checked.
But now I know that's how it was programmed. I tested scratch live 1.9.2 on my pc and the songs only save when I dragged the song onto the ALL✻
When did this start happening?

Try checking "protect library". Do they still disappear after loading?

If you drag and drop a song using the mouse, does it disappear too?

no it does not disappear. Drag and dropping is the only way it saves

It seems to me like you are loading them from the prepare window. Once you load a song from that window it disappears. Although clicking and dragging it would make it disappear too.
I haven't seen it disappear from the main library after loading. The only way it would disappear is if you were pressing control and delete instead of control and the arrow. If that were the case though, the song wouldn't load, it would just disappear from the library.
Can you possibly attach 3 of the files that do this to you to this thread. That will allow me to do the same thing here to see if I can duplicate the problem.
Are you sure you aren't loading them from the prepare window?

I am loading them from the files window. I uploaded a video so you can see it for yourself. I'll attach 3 files but your not going to be able to duplicate the problem because the problem seems to come from the program.

Hi DJ CnC,
I can confirm the behavior you're seeing, importing a track from the Files panel by loading to a deck using the keyboard shortcut appears not to correctly write the track into the permanent database (even though it appears in the library onscreen).
It looks like this bug appeared in version 1.9.2, it's too late now to get a fix in for 2.0.0 so we'll aim to fix this in a subsequent version.
Meanwhile, the best workaround for this is to make sure all your tracks are imported by dragging them onto the All crate. If you're looking to import all of your track without touching the mouse/trackpad then you might be out of luck for now, but remember you can import them in bulk by dragging the whole folder to "All...".
