Ok so I have a bunch of music on Scartch live program and a bunch more on my PC. I recently noticed that when I recycled a folder ( of which i had 2 music files on Serato), I could not get access to these 2 music files through Serato live. On the other hand I uploaded all my drum n bass collection on Serato & then threw it out and those music files work completely fine. I always have the 'back up your music' option checked on before I exit so I don't understand the problem.
How can i back up all the music I use on Serato, & throw away all the large music folders of which I use/like barely any songs. I don't want to lose those few favorites that are mixed with the rest of junk.
Thanks

Andrew,
When you import music into Scratch Live your not actually creating a copy of the files.
SSL creates a file tag that tells the program where the file is stored.
If you delete the file once you've imported it into SSL then the file tag the program created is no longer looking at the file and it shows up pink in SSL saying 'file not found'.
At this point, I would create a folder, or group of folders, on your hard drive and simply drag/drop your files from the main window of SSL into the folder(s).
If you have a group of crates organized you may choose to create a folder for each crate.
For example.. lets say you have a DNB, HipHop, and HOUSE crate.
You can create a folder for each crate and then drag/drop the files in each crate into the same named folder on your hard drive.
This will create a copy of the files and place them in the folder(s).
Once done, you can then delete everything from SSL by highlighting all the tracks in your 'all' section and holding down ctrl + delete. This will not delete the files from your drive.
Only from SSL.
Do the same for your crate files.
Now you can import the newly created folder into SSL to get your library back.
Once done, you can then delete all of the original files from wherever they are stored on your hard drive. Remember.. you've copied all the "good" files from SSL into new folders on your drive. You do not want to delete these new folders.. just the folders that hold your "bad or unwanted" files.
Hope that helps:)

If I do this, will it delete all the cue points I saved for every song on my SSL? (I have at least one que point, but usually 3-5 for every track I have in SSL) so you can imagine if I have to do it all over again, it will take a long time

No.. cue points are stored in the actual file. Wherever that file goes the cues will go with it.
