any recommendations on MP3 Tag editor program. Not sure if i want to use iTunes to do it, thinking I'd like to stay away from it organizing my music/crates. Just looking for an easy and efficient way of getting all my tags correct.

and also....couple of my crates have a couple songs in them that have the symbol "locked". Just one or two here and there......how do i remove that?

I recommend doing all your tagging in Scratch Live.

The lock icon means they are "read only" files.

Sometimes you can go to the actual song file and click the properties or info window. You can change the permissions there to "read and write"

But If I edit it in Serato......its not actually editing the MP3 tag is it??? A little confused about all this...

Yes, when you make changes in Scratch Live, it writes that info to the ID3 tag associated with the song file. When doing it this way, we know it is storing it in the correct area of the tag that the program reads.

I use MP3Tag to do all of my tagging. I don't use iTunes at all for anything. In MP3TAG, you can be prompted to write on a file that is read-only. If you edit file usinmg MP3 Tag that are already in your Serato library, you will have to Read ID3 tags again in Serato in order to view the changes.

You may want to redirect any other questions related to MP3TAG to their forums though.
