will the SL-1 box work with the 1.9.2 version or the 2.0. will i get the same sampling or effects as the newer version with my SL.1 box.

You can use Scratch Live 2.0 with your SL 1. You will get the DJ FX and the SP-6 sample player. The SL3 has an AUX output, so you can run the sample player out of there, but that's the main difference between that and the SL 1 for samples.

so then i should just go to the web site and just click on upgrade to get the 2.0 or should i delete my 1.8.3 then install the latest version.

Scratch Live 2.0 is in public beta at the moment, so it's not available for download from that link. All you need to do is download Scratch Live 1.9.2 from my link, and install that file, it will delete 1.8.3 and do everything that is needed to be done automatically.
