At the moment I organise my music on an ex hdd within serato.
I do this on a pc at home.
I then plug it into my macbook for gigs, everything loads up nicely.

But.

I would like to change to managing my music via iTunes.
Can i base both pc and mac iTunes' to load of an ex hdd?

in other words, how can i make it that:

changes to iTunes on my pc via muisic files on an ex hdd are replicated on my macbook?

Hello Dill Pickle,

We would not recommend having Scratch Live read your iTunes library... especially if your wanting your music to read off of an external drive and be able to plug that external into someone elses computer to play your music.
For one, iTunes is a completely separate program that we have no control over and they are constantly putting out updates that mess with our program.
We deal with more iTunes issues here in tech support than we do Scratch Live issues.
The best way is to use SSL crates and manage your music using your own music folders.

This will allow you to create your crates using files from your external and then be able to plug that external into anyone's computer to see your crates/files.
This is not that easy when having SSL read your iTunes library.
Yes.. you can have SSL read the iTunes library on your computer but when your wanting to plug into someone else's computer you would need to go into the preferences of their iTunes and change their iTunes music folder location to look towards your external.
If that user also has SSL reading their iTunes library then one of you won't be able to use their iTUnes library due to iTunes only being able to read one library at a time.

Questions?

Fair point - sounds like im asking for trouble - considering that my problem is a mild preference choice, rather a must work.
