Last night I opened up for LMFAO at their after party. I started DJing and about 30 mins into my set I played "Can I Get A" by Jay-Z. Randomly during the song "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z started playing. It was playing on top of both channel's music. At first I thought maybe the DJ in the other room started DJing again and the signal was coming through over mine but then he appeared in the booth next to me, concerned. If I turned down the channel on either side, the overlapping song turned down as well. I thought maybe I bumped one of the CD players and they were playing a track. I was totally baffled. I stopped the turntable and "Can I Get A" stopped playing. There was only one track playing now but it was nearing it's end. I didn't even think to throw on vinyl because I thought the problem was due to a mixer connection or a Serato glitch. I was going to plug in my iPhone and play a track but the mixer was hard wired and mounted to the booth so I couldn't get behind it to swap wires. I bit the bullet and restarted my Serato. There was about 30 seconds of silence (longest 30 seconds of my life) and then I played a track.
Later that night I went on after LMFAO to wrap up. I tried to trigger an airhorn and POW, "Empire State of Mind" started playing. Eureka! I went into the sample player and ejected the song.
Here's what I don't understand... I DJ'd the night before, used the airhorn, no problems. I never open the sample player because I never swap samples. So how did that get in there? It takes a few steps to swap a sample. How did that happen? Nobody else used my computer? I don't drink so I didn't do it in a drunken stupor.
RRRRRR.

What sample player slot was it in?
Which bank was it in? Was it in the one you saw on screen?
Which version of Scratch Live are you using?

Hi.
I am using Serato 1.92. The song got loaded in the first bank (Z key). The bank listed the song and not the original airhorn sample that I keep in that bank.
I'm aware that there are shortcut keys to load a sample but 1. I can't say that I did or didn't hit CTRL+ALT+Z or whatever it is and 2. Sometimes having a shortcut for every function isn't the best idea. Who knows what else I may turn on or off and then not be able to find. I had previously posted problems with effects being turned on or off and affecting volume. I now wonder if I'm typing something that is turning on an effect without me being aware.

The only way to trigger an effect is from group 6 of the TTM57. It is possible to have an effect on and be in other groups though.

I'm aware of that. That isn't my concern at the moment. I'm just talking about typos triggering unwanted actions.

The "Z" key will play the sample loaded to the first slot, pressing Ctrl-Alt-Z will load the first slot....

you can always use the "playback keys use shift option" if you are afraid of accidentally pushing buttons.
You can find that in set-up / playback.
