Are you using an internal or external hard drive? On the hard drive do you have at least 10% of free hard drive space?

first i had my videos on my external drive and same problem. So i put my videos in my internal hard drive and also had the same problem. The waves on the serato would freeze when i load the next music video. But you can still see the video play in the three boxes and still control it on the cdj or turntable. But when that song ends i cant do anything and would have to force quit the serato.

What video card do you have? Also, have you scanned your files to make sure none of them are corrupt? What source are you using to obtain your videos?

How would i be able to find out what video card i have? And i had already scanned the files. All the videos are mp4 file.

Hey Crook,
It sounds like you might be running into corrupt files.
To find out if you have any corrupt files in your library you will need to analyze your files.
First click on the 'files' tab underneath the right virtual deck, and click the 'rescan id3 tag' option in the lower left of the files window.
This will remind SSL of what files have been analyzed and which ones haven't.
Once its done scanning, unplug your Rane hardware and click the 'analyze files' tab on the left side of the SSL screen.. above the word 'all'.
After its done analyzing for all necessary files you'll need to look through your library and delete any files that have a corrupt file icon next to it. This looks like a cd with a crack down the middle of it.
Its important to delete ANY corrupt files that SSL finds. Know that even corrupt files you never play can still cause SSL to freeze or crash.
Let us know how you get along;)

At this point, if you click the 'rescan id3 tag' tab, let it scan, and then click 'analyze files', does it start analyzing any files?
Are you running your files off of an external drive or are they coming from your internal?

so i did analyze all the files and no problems. The program still froze on me. i also tried to run the mp4 files on my internal hard drive and external and it still froze on me. Another thing i tried was to run it on the same brand computer exactly like mine and the serato frozed again. Is this computer not good for it? Im very lost on what to do at this point.

it started to analyze files and finished. Can you let me know what my settings need to be. it only happens when i mix videos.

A setting isn't going to cause freezing.
Lets strip your system down to figure out where the problem is coming from.
Make sure your external is unplugged and do this:
1. Shut down SSL.
2. Rename the ScratchLIVE folder inside your Music folder so it reads ScratchLIVE1.
3. Now open SSL and you should have a completely empty library.
4. Download these test videos --> scratchlive.net
5. Import them into SSL.
Now play just those videos. Keep in mind they don't have any audio in them but if its an issue with your computer, SSL, or VSL then the freezing should still happen at this point.
If it doesn't then we know the issue is with the files your using.
Note: To get your original library back you'll need to shut down SSL, open your Music folder, delete the newly created ScratchLIVE folder, and rename the ScratchLIVE1 folder back to its original ScratchLIVE name.
Let us know your findings and we'll go from there;)

so i know its been a min but i got it to work on the 2.0 serato. i guess 1.9 serato could not support my computer. so if anyone runs into this problem just make sure you have 2.0 version.
