Hi!

I just bought a Denon DN-HC1000S DJ controller for Serato, and I have a problem. The problem is that when I connected it and startet Serato, only the Cuepoint buttons 3 flashed 3 times, and then nothing happend. I can't controll anything, and it seems like the firmware/software for the controller isn't installed. Anyone who can help me?

Thanks,
Johan.

Hi Johan,

If the Cue 3 buttons flash when you connect the DN-HC1000S then that means that it is set to MIDI channel 3. You'll need to switch it to MIDI channel 1, which is the channel used to control Scratch Live by default (the other three channels are avaible for you to customize as you please :)

You can switch MIDI channels using the followings button combinations:
SHIFT + FILES - MIDI channel 1
SHIFT + BROWSE - MIDI channel 2
SHIFT + HISTORY - MIDI channel 3
SHIFT + PREPARE - MIDI channel 4

Hey Johan,

Do you have it working now or do you still require assistance?
JohanD 12:04 PM 9 March 2010
Hi!

Thanks for the help! Yeah, I have worked it out. Is is always on channel 3 when the controller is new?
Michael R 9:38 PM 9 March 2010
It shouldn't be, but I guess these things can happen! ;)

Hi!

I have now got a new problem with my controller. Cue button 1 on the left side doesn't work. When I try to hit it nothing happens, and I can't delete cue point 1 either by hitting the ctr button + cue point button 1. I have tried to delete the AUTO-SAVE file, and changed the channels.

Should I deliver it back to the store I bought it from, or can someone help me?

Thanks! :)

Hi Guys,

I am having the same problem as above.. I changed the midi channels and there has not been any other change?

Johan when u switch to midi channel one by pressing shift + files.. does anything else happen? how did u know it worked?
JohanD 9:33 AM 6 April 2010
Hi!

What kind of problem do you have? Mine is now that the cue point button 1 is not working at all. Do you have the same problem that I had earlier?
DJ_NEAL 9:41 AM 6 April 2010
Johan,

Its the first problem.. The buttons flash 3 times but then nothing happens. I use a Mac Book Pro is there something I need to do on the mac? I tried deleting the file and it doesnt make any difference..

The unit seems like its dead.. beside the first 3 flashes of the cue buttons...

it doesnt not control my serato :-(
JohanD 11:54 AM 6 April 2010
You have to change the channel, to channel 1, then it controls Serato. That worked for me! :)

Yes, as Michael R wrote:

Hey Johan,

Are you still having the problem with the Cue 1 button?
JohanD 5:58 AM 7 April 2010
Yes, Should I deliver it back?
JohanD 12:15 PM 7 April 2010
It seems like cue button 1 is dead, cause all the other buttons work fine.

Hi Guys,

I took the unit in and changed it..

The new unit is working 100%..

Hey Johan,

Before you take it back, try installing MIDI Monitor -> www.snoize.com (click link). Run it with the DN-HC1000S connected and try pressing the Cue 1 button - does MIDI Monitor regsiter when you press the button?
Michael R 4:32 AM 9 April 2010
Hey Neal,

Glad to hear you got it sorted :)
JohanD 4:51 PM 9 April 2010
Michael, Now the cue point 1 button works, but I have to push it very hard, and it seems like its damaged in some way. So there is contact, but the sensitivity is not correct, I think.

Do you have any thoughts? :)
Michael R 3:31 AM 16 April 2010
Hey Johan,

That sounds like a hardware fault, as there are no velocity settings for the DN-HC1000S. I'm afraid you'll have to get it serviced!
JohanD 5:53 AM 16 April 2010
Yes, I have delivered it to my supplier, thanks for help!
Michael R 11:18 PM 19 April 2010
No worries :) They should be able to fix or replace it for you.

I'll close this thread for now, please post back if you still have this problem.
