Or can I submit this as a feature request for it to be so?

Yes it's a nifty and sweet feature, but I would plain and simply like the ability for this to be turned off (really all I want is the NS7 LED light series to be shut off above the master volume control) I understand BPM's will still be available to see on the PC, but primarily I don't want to lose the ability I've gained on having a trained ear for beat matching to be lost as it isn't needed as often over time. Now and then I encounter mp3s which do not have a BPM and sometimes they don't detect (or in time), or it's simply and utterly wrong and by relying on this can get you into trouble, therefore I'd rather just not use it at all and keep my ear keen.

Thanks guys.

Hi GONeale.

You can either just not look at these lights.
Or if you can't help but look at them, you can delete the BPM information in the ITCH library, and make sure you don't set auto bpm calculation when analyzing files in thet offline player.

Interesting thanks. How can I remove all BPM information? Would this have to be done with a mass-ID3 editor?

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I know it seems kind of lame, but I can't trust myself not to look at the lights, especially if I get frustrated with a beat match ;)

Just disable BPM from your library view

That won't help anything, it still picks up bpm's when you load the tracks. Matt-C is on the right track, but still rather avoid having to del BPM info just for removing a visual aid.

You can use ITCH as a tag editor. You can delete the BPM of one track by double clicking the BPM field in the library view and entering nothing.

If you want to edit multiple tags, then highlight a range of the tracks then double click the field you want to alter (BPM) and then change it (ie. delete). This may take some time to write the tags, so it may be worth doing it in chunks to avoid a huge pause in computer operation.

UUMMMMM....Cant you just not hit sync and rely on you ability, or put a piece of tape over lights!!

I used a neatly trimmed piece of electrical tape to cover mine. Looks clean and no lights!

I still like the option of having the BPMs listed if I want, I mean, I used labels on my wax to make crates by BPM.

Maybe an option for displaying the BPM on the player to display the original BPM, rather than have it calculate the change with pitch?

Yeah that's what I'm talkin about JBoogz, I still want BPM.. (DjRicksta.. I never hit sync anyway).. just don't want it bugging me with the alert LED's when they are matched. Old skool thinking, electrical tape.. lol - good idea! be better than nothing! Ideally ability to turn on and off the LED set would be nicest though. It truly should be an option, I don't see why it should be forced upon us.

I guess that was one of the features for the NS7. You are the first person I've heard to ask for it not to be there however. So if more people ask for this option, I am sure that this will be considered.

Cheers.
