Hello all. First time posting here as I never really had any problems with Serato but alas, there is a first time for everything.
Here we go:
I was wondering if anyone is having problems importing? On occasion, when I select the "Import" button, nothing happens. When I minimize the serato screen, It pops up but then I have problems selecting songs. I have to maximize the screen again and it may or may not work.
It's frustrating.
Anyone have any remedies or suggestions or share a similar problem? I have the latest version 1.2 Final

Are you on XP?
If that's the case, you could use Alt-Tab to switch between the different windows. Then you just find your files and drag them down to the Serato thing on your taskbar and wait till you get see the Serato application and drop them in whatever folder you want. That's how I usually do it.

Hi Revolutionary.
Yes, I am using XP SP2.
Thanks for the tip. That's how I worked around it. I just thought that the import feature would be more efficient so that I wouldn't have to alt-tab it.
Have you ever tried importing from MY MUSIC? I think perhaps I have too many music files in there?
Thanks again.

I have all my files in this big folder I simply call "Music" located on my external HD. All in one space, you know. Probably not the best way, but it works. Each time I get a new file I just drop it in that folder and bring it in to SSL by using the alt-tab thing. Going to reorganize the whole thing once I get my decent laptop back.
How many files do you got?

Not sure if it's related, but I have my documents on a network drive, so when I click on my documents it takes me to \\server\share.
This means my music is \\server\share\my music
SSL doesn't work with this at all, it imports the files then when you restart it has forgotten about them. The fix for me was to map a network drive to the share so that my music was
M:\my music

This is because SSL needs to store information about files and crates on that specific drive, nobspangle. Logical really. I'm going to try that network thing later. Sounds interesting.

ssl writes the markers and overviews to the mp3 files themselves too.
