I have been editing the timing of the a bass part with serato. I use it with the trimmer tool inside the edit window. I've been cutting the audio a any given point and stretching it to fit and most edits will create a click sound at the front of the region. The edit points are cut in a group of 3 audio tracks.
Do you know why this is happening? I am running PT version 8 on my mac.
I used to use Pitch n Time on my PC -Win XP, running pro tools 7.4 and I can't remember hearing such noise created at the edit points.

Hi Randy12345,
Can you please try the latest version of Pitch 'n Time LE (1.2) and tell me if you still have this problem? You can get it here -> www.serato.com (click link)

Ok thanks for trying that out.
Can you please tell me - when you make your edits do you hear these artifacts before you do any time compression or expansion?

I don't hear these artifacts prior. The source material is a plucked bass guitar.
What I have noticed is the waveform view shows that after the time expansion process finishes there is a gap created between both regions waveform. I thought this plug-in did not create such a change in the waveform. It requires a crossfade to remove the click artifact.
btw - I've used the same method on drums and not had this artifact present itself... I have a feeling the low frequencies are a cause. What do you think of this?

Hey Randy12345,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.
Ok so we've taken a shot at reproducing what is happening here and this appears to be a limitation of using the trimmer tool. When processing with the trimmer tool, audio outside of the selected area is not taken into consideration - hence why the processed waveform won't line up with the existing waveform. This isn't a problem when editing transient sounds but when editing tonal sounds you'll have this happen which is causing the artifacts you are hearing. If you don't use the trimmer tool when processing this type of audio you should be able to avoid this problem :)
