Hi,

I'm based in the US and have orchestral pre-production tracks. I am leaving for Poland in 2 days to work on a TV concert. The orchestra wants to tune to A442 but my tracks are at A440. How do I transpose this little amount?

I need to know very soon, so i can transpose my tracks before I leave for Krakow.

Thank You,

Greg Bartheld

Hi,

To do that leave the Time parameter as is, and set the Pitch parameter to 100.454545%. This is the pitch ratio between 442 and 440 Hz (442/440*100 = 100.454545...)

So type 100.454545 as the pitch percentage (see the picture attached bellow for where this is), and press process.

Cheers

Thank You. Doe that mean that if i needed to go to A445 from A440 the ration would be: 101.136363%

Thanks you,
Greg

One last question on this matter. I have to transpose 5 songs down a half step and they should end up at A442, my stuff is at A440. When I use the semitone field in PnT (-1) the percent field goes to (94.387432). I could transpose a half step down and then transpose again up to A442, but I would like to do as little pitch shifting as possible for the integrity of the sound quality. This is the London Symphony Orchestra and I want to keep the best sound quality as possible. What is the formula for this equation?

Thanks you again,
Greg
