Hi muso4hire,
Can you please tell me the exact error message you are seeing? Also which version of Pro Tools are you using?

I am using Pro Tools HD 7.2, OSX 10.4.9 (because that's what they recommend) DP 5.11. The error message is -7053.
As I said before it worked great until recently... maybe I should trash preferences? Just not sure which preferences I should trash...
Thanks,
Mike

I was using 2.4 so I updated to 2.5. I still have the same problem in DP 5.11 but Pro Tools HD 7.2 is working fine. In DP 5.11 when I attempt to us PnT I get the error -7053 message, then if I close the PnT plug in window DP 5.11 crashes with no log... this is getting frustrating... it worked fine until 2 weeks ago... any suggestions would really be appreciated.

Hey Mike,
I did find this on the Digidesign website:
In one case, it was due to an incompatible or corrupt plug-in in the DAE>Plug-ins folder. Removing the plug-in fixed the problem.
It looks like you might have fixed this by installing the new version and overwriting the existing plug-in :)
By DP are you referring to Digital Performer? How are you using Pitch 'n Time in this?

I use Digital Performer with the Digidesign hardware (DAE) in DP I can use RTAS and HD (TDM) plug ins... What has me worried is that Pro Tools works fine, but Digital Performer with PnT doesn't.. and up until 2 weeks ago it worked great...

I have a feeling it's a Digital Performer problem... the other thing that causes 7053 errors is low RAM availibility. I have 6GB, but for some reason DP runs out really quickly recently.. it didn't do this before... any ideas why an app would suddenly need more RAM?
Thanks,
Mike

No I have no idea sorry :( I've looked on Google but there's very little mention of that error number in Digital Performer. I did find a few more things on the Digidesign site that may help:

Hey Mike,
There is an issue with Macs not addressing 4GB+ RAM in all Mac OS X versions prior to 10.5.8. Have you always run with 6GB or have you just recently installed it?

Always had 6GB of RAM in this G5, and it worked great, again PnT works fine in Pro Tools, just not in DP... they're both using the DAE engine, there's some voodoo going on here. MOTU suggests looking at the DAE memory manager. If/when I figure this out I'll let you know..

I'd be interested to know as well. I'm having similar problems trying to run PNT within DP using DAE. MOTU has been very unhelpful. Please continue to update if you find anything out. Thanks! -Ed
