Hi,I have sl3 and a Denon dn-hd2500 and everything works great. The only Thing is the Platter movements do not work so well. The scratch is very hard to work and backspins dont work also you have to turn the platter like 3 or 4 spins just to get 2 seconds into the song.Is there a fix to this or is it a hardware limitation. Thanks

It sounds like you need to tweak the Denon platter speed. Denon has it's own software for doing this. I haven't used it, so I don't know how to do it, sorry.

I would call Denon and ask them how :) -->> 630-741-0330

I called them and they are not sure about that.Is there any other resolution. Thanks

Hmmm, I could have sworn I talked to a guy that needed to tweak something in the jog code back to default. --->>> #36 looks kinda like it, but I dont know -->> www.denondj.com

Switch the virtual decks to ABS mode and check the 33 and 45 setting, which do you have selected?
DJSHARK 9:53 PM 12 November 2009
I Tried to do that and tried both 33 and 45 didnt change anything.I have to spin the wheel about 8x to get one revolution. Thanks

Try this:

Close SSL

Open your My Music folder

Open the ScratchLIVE folder

Locate and rename the MIDI folder to Old_MIDI

Restart SSL

Any luck?

Another thing I just noticed is the cue buttons stay red even if you eject the track and the tap button comes on,is this normal thanks.
Shaun W 12:30 AM 13 November 2009
What firmware version do you have installed? -->> www.denondj.com

Does reverting back to the 1.9.1 version of SSL have any affect?

Do you have another computer you can use to test your 2500?
Shaun W 12:32 AM 13 November 2009
Do you have the "scratch" feature enabled for the jog wheel?
DJSHARK 1:48 AM 13 November 2009
I have the latest v1400 firmware.I started on 1.9.1 and It did the same.I just installed 1.9.2 hoping it would work better.I just tried another computer and it does the same thing.I did try the scratch button same thing,I am lost with this.

I have the same problem (sorry for bad english, I'm french!)
It's not possible to scratch with job, The range of moving must be increase when job the platter is used.
Shaun W 4:43 PM 13 November 2009
If you're experiencing the same problem using a different computer and a different version of SSL, the problem must be within the 2500 itself.

Do you experience the same issue when using the 2500 with regular audio CDs?
djbilly@972 6:11 PM 13 November 2009
Shaun, I think like you, because, with mp3 stored in internal HD I have the same problem.
But it's will be fine to have the possibility to modify the sensibility of the job in midi mode.
djbilly@972 6:11 PM 13 November 2009
with serato
djbilly@972 6:21 PM 13 November 2009
not job but jog
Shaun W 7:00 PM 13 November 2009
Go into the Denon Utility mode and use the Factory Default function in Utility mode to set your 2500 to the default settings.
djbilly@972 7:25 PM 13 November 2009
ok i will try that
DJSHARK 2:45 AM 14 November 2009
Hey Sorry for taking a while I just got home from work.Actually in mp3 mode off the hard drive its perfect dead on.I have no problems with it.Even when I run time code its much better than midi.So I was thinking its the 2500 but after tryin it I just dont know.I came across reading this problem with someones 4500 but im not sure of what happened,Anymore ideas. Thanks
Shaun W 7:45 PM 16 November 2009
Go into the Denon Utility mode and use the Factory Default function in Utility mode to set your 2500 to the default settings.
DJSHARK 12:14 AM 19 November 2009
I did and it seems to work a little bit better I can live with it.Still not like playing from the Hard drive, but it's ok.Thanks for all the help
DJSHARK 1:04 AM 19 November 2009
Ok I also just found out in the presets mode you can change the jog response time. Now it works very well. Thanks you guys for all the input.Shaun I really appreciate it I would not have found that if you didn't tell me to reset to factory defaults.I love serato I will never use another dvs system.
djbilly@972 1:57 AM 19 November 2009
how many time (ms) do you have choice for best practice?
DJSHARK 2:50 AM 19 November 2009
It looks like 2ms works well.I did 1ms and it was really digital when I did a backspin.
Shaun W 6:17 PM 19 November 2009
Awesome! So the setting for the jog wheels is in the Utility Mode or the presets area?

I'd like to know where exactly, so I can help people with this in the future :)

Thanks!
DJSHARK 3:51 AM 20 November 2009
It was in the presets I think #26,Thanks
Shaun W 4:19 PM 20 November 2009
Wow, #26 there must be a scary amount of presets in that thing. Good job finding the one you needed :)
