Hi,
I own pitch n time in Protools (7.1) and in Fairlight.
But the pitch n time in Fairlight is so much better, that in PT sounds (excuse me) horrible compared to that in Fairlight.
I tried it with same file and same Settings and always the Fairlight sounds much more natural. (For example i stretch often, for pub, some Voice with 88% and it sounds great in Fairlight, in PT i stretch it with 95% and i already hear thats its stretched)
How is that possible?

Hi Ba,
That's interesting!
What version of Pitch 'n Time are you using?
How did you get Pitch 'n Time for Fairlight?

I would like to know this, too. I may buy a Fairlight after all. Who knows... ;-)

Hi,
I use in ProTools version 2.2.3, in Fairlight i dont know the version, its an older one i think, cause we have 3 Fairlight Systems (2 QDCs and 1 MFX3plus) and i always had Serato in one QDC for years already, and now before 6 months i bought also one for the second QDC.
I got it from Fairlight Australia. But like i understood it, the Serato is directly installed and integrated (its no Plug In,its just the alogrithm, i still use the GUI of Fairlight) in Fairlight , cause i just needed to activate and register it, i bought just an activation code.

Hi Oliver,
In Fairlight it is not named Pitch n Time ,its an algorithm from Serato its named Serato Time Sculpture (Thanks Dave) , its like the Pitch n Time LE for Logic, just for Fairlight. It duses the GUI from Fairlight

Ah, somebody else has found this! I used to have a 32 track Fairlight QDC with the Serato option that I used to use for dialogue editing and the timestretch was fantastic, miles better than anything else I've ever used before or since. When I moved to ProTools I saw the snazzy interface you get for P and T and thought "Great!" but it's awful on dialogue (great for music but I don't do that!), goes all phasey and robotic sounding. I'm stuck using the Digi timestretch which is ok but not great. Is there any chance a Dialogue setting will be implemented that resurrects the quality I had on the Fairlight?
Thanks,
Pete
