Serato acting as if stylus is moving but it really isn't?

Hi,

Recently I bought a new setup consisting 2x Technics 1210 MK5, 2x Shure M44G, Stanton - SMX-501 and Serato scratch live hooked up to a Dell 1.6ghz laptop.

I set up everything accordingly and everything works fine. However if one of the turntables is idle (when it's not on the vinyl, OR if it's on the vinyl but it's in STOP position) I will hear crazy scribbling noises and scratching sounds. It doesn't make these noises if the record is playing, but it is very annoying if i place the stylus just before a beat and stop it at that position, i'll hear the scribbling and on the bar graph it shows the vinyl is going backwards, even though it's completly still.

Anyone know what the problem is? The other turntable works perfectly and i've tried both turntables with real vinyl and it works fine. I'm assuming it has something to do with serato?
I hope someone can help me with my problem, Thanks.

Lower the threshold estimate a little for that side in the setup menu.

had the same problem with a turntable with a bad ground connection. if raising the estimate bar doesnt work, its got to be the ground wire!

same problem. i dont have grounding contacts on my Stanton T120C. doesnt bother we really much cause before releasing the incoming trach i cue it back and forth a little thus the SSL returns to normal position immediately :)
