I have an IBM Thinkpad T42 and just had it reformatted. The USB ports are not HiSpeed like they were before the reformat. I'm thinking I need to install a driver? Where can I get this? I'm running Windows XP.
Help...need to upgrade this by friday's gig!
Thanks.

Have you gone to the windows update sight and downloaded all their updates?
Keep in mind you will have to go back to this sight and continue downloading updates several times before you get all the updates for your computer. Not sure why the sight is set up like that but it is.

The T42 should have an onboard recovery partition (unless you have erased it)
You access it from the bios it should restore your computer to the exact state it came in.

you have to test it out and see what setting works for you, and also the ssl is not usb2 so it wouldnt matter if you did get the drivers for usb 2

Not having USB2.0 wont cause any USB dropouts with SSL, unless you have bandwidth hogs like external disks which might cause problems.
IBM has a big support website with usually all drivers online except for all additional software like DVD players or record burning apps etc. Basically anything which is OEM you wont find them on the IBM website unless its a driver kind of thing.

thanks for the replies...I think I need to get the USB2 enhanced host controller (details in device manager). I had this before I reformatted but don't know where it went?
Just to refresh...on the USB Buffer setting...if the port is non HiSpeed, then I should move it more toward the left?

its not gonna matter that your usb port is not high speed becaue serato interface is not high speed...
you have to play around aith your settings to find out what buffer setting your computer can handle...

ohhh...well that's comforting to hear then if the serato interface isn't high speed. I noticed my external HD was though. Will it affect the performance of that if I'm using an external for my gigs? I loaded everything internally for the time being just in case the slower USB port would affect the file transfers into serato.
When I was transferring my songs I def noticed a difference in speed though.
