recently i have been experiancing problems with ssl. i have managed with the help of people on this forum to fix them all for the time being. but this has left me questioning whether it is really worth risking blowing a set particully my forth coming one which is by far the biggest gig i've ever played by using ssl that could possibly crash. its been working fine today but when i've had problems its come totally out the blue. anyone else sharing my grief? don't get me wrong ssl is the best investment i have ever made and i owe it alot dj wise, its just there seem to be a few problems programming wise with it at the moment and maybe i should go back to basics and play records. but that adds the problem of wieght on an international flight. aarrrrgggghhhhh i don't no what to do

Can you be specific? What kind of problems are you having?

1. What are you computer specs?
2. What kind of gear you using?

i have a g4 ibook. the firsst problem was the fact ssl would crash beforer its evan open. i fixed that by trashing the neccesary files in my mac hd. then my i tunes libary wouldn't open. i used the same technique to fix it again. then when i have been using ssl at home a coupke of times i have gone to load a song on to a deck and the application just quites, but reopens when tryed. also i have experianced problems with whilst ssl is running the the song starts to skip and jump. then no sound comes out and the deck icon on the screen has a little spack out. i am using 1.6 downloaded recently. my computer is 1.42 GHz g4 with 512MB built in, not great i know but has worked absoloutly fine up until now

This usually occurs due to SSL not being calibrated properly.
Remember everytime you set up somewhere you need to go through the calibration process.
Is your USB light coming on?
Are you using an external HD?
Are you using an external USB hub?
What is your tracking percentage?
What do your scopes look like?
What is your USB audio buffer set at?

SSL is a great program that is extremely reliable but I think its a matter of becoming familiar with knowing how to troubleshoot problems when they occur. I know it can be frustrating, but know that at one point everyone that gives advice on this forum felt like you do and now they can use SSL with confidence. It takes a bit of homework but a good investment in my opinion.
