Hi,

I've searched trough the forum, but I still can't figure out what's the best way to clean (serato) vinyl. I've got some dirt on it. Maybe someone from serato could help me with this...

thnx

I've never used gruv glide but it seems to be more of a one off treatment to protect rather than something for cleaning vinyl.

Alcohol and water sounds like a good thing to clean with.

There are two things to remember

1. SSL control vinyl is just like normal vinyl, clean it the same way you would clean normal vinyl, treat it the same.

2. SSL control vinyl is not rare, if your discs are dirty or scratched you can always just buy new ones. Keep a spare set in your record bag and you don't need to worry about how to clean or care for them.

The best thing I have found to clean the control vinyl after much trial and error is anti-static cleaning wipes. They do not leave any residue and are not too wet or too dry, in other words I think they are just right. I can't remember right off hand what the brand are but I got them at Wal-mart and they are supposed to be used to clean the soft laptop screens. If you give them a try I think you would like the results.
