Hello! So, I just set up serato and I am unable to import my itunes library. I have checked the 'import itunes' in the setup to no avail. I've tried reformatting all files to MP3's, .WAV, and AIFF still not able. Ive gone through the "import" button, searched the hardrive, clicked and dragged songs into the "ALL" area, but they won't copy. A few Depeche Mode songs that were on my desktop copied in, but not all. So I tried making a desktop folder with some itunes songs and bringing them in that way, but Nope. Nothing. They still won't be added in the "ALL.." icon.

When I first set it up, the song files that are given with the scratch live program were not in my library either, I had to open the software disk, drag the folder to the desktop and then import them.

If anybody could help it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello SimoneK,

What version of SSL are you using?
I would suggest uninstalling the current version and download 1.6.1.

Hi Zach,

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.

I"m using the 1.4 version. (this is what is says on the software disc) I downlowded the 1.6.1 version, but the problem persists.

I've just purchased Serato and didn't relize there were mutiple versions. Do you think I need to return everything? Is this a problem with the hardware as well and software?

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks for your help
Simone

First, look in the bottom right hand corner of the setup screen in SSL and make sure you are in fact using version 1.6.1.
You don't need to return anything. Currently we are still shipping SSL with version 1.4 and the downloads are available through scratchlive.net.

Are you converting your songs in iTunes?
Make sure that the songs are mp3, wav, aif, or ogg files by opening up the "view options" tab in the edit drop down, and checking the "kind" box. Once that is checked, scroll all the way to the right and you will see the "kind" column. If you see any other file format other than mp3, aif, wav, or ogg than you will need to convert the files. Check here>>docs.info.apple.com for directions on conversion.

If you want your tracks to read from iTunes you won't need to import them. You will only need to check the "read iTunes music library" option in the setup screen.

louisv14,

You will have to burn the m4a songs to an audio cd and re-import them and convert them to an mp3.
