Need some help.
Runnin HP Laptop/ Intel Core 2 Duo 2.00GHz/ 3.0 GB ram
Vista 32 bit system
Got Itch version 1.5.0 with Numark NS7
1. Few times durning a mix crossfader brings in next deck to full volume. The crossfader is not set to scratch mode either.
2. NS7 turn table deck is running normal, but track all of a sudden goes hyper drive fast and i cannot stop it or control it. Also went backwards too.
3. NS7 suddenly goes half off, and itch stops, almost like a quick power surge.
I don't know if it's the itch software, the NS7, or my laptop. Laptop reaches all if not more than minimum requirements.
Anyone else experienced problems, glitches of the same nature with itch and ns7?

Hi, Gen S.S
What latency setting to you have set on your computer?
You can check this in "Setup" you will see a latency buffer slider.
It sounds like you have a latency/delay issue on your system.

Hi Gen,
If you increase the latency does this issue go away?
I would advise ensuring that you have all the updates available from HP for your laptop and windows update.
Additionally you should use the DPC latency checker to diagnose any issues.
www.thesycon.de
It works by scanning for any latency, IRQ conflicts or other issues.
To use the software run ITCH and run audio then load DPC.
You will be shown a bar graph , GREEN (SAFE) Yellow (Caution) Red (Dropouts)
You will also be given a report of any conflicting hardware.

did it and got some red bars. about 7 of em. i disabled a bunch of things. but still end up with about 7 bars.
it doesn't tell me exactly what is causing it but to try enabling and disabling everything one by one. is there a way to figure exactly what things are conflicting?

Thanks a lot. I got 1 bar that's red, but that's better than 7-9 i had before. Did a pretty good mixing session and so far so good.
Tonight i got a gig and will provide a test for it. I'll get back if things get weird again.
Thanks

Is there any way to check conflicts on a Mac? I am using a slightly below spec Mac with my NS7 and am getting bad results. i was wondering if there was a similar tool for OSX to locate possible conflicts.

longshot,
most likely you dont'have any conflicts going on.
minimum specs are a BARE minimum, and a minimum spec'd machine doesn't give good results either.
You need a fast machine in order to fully enjoy your NS7 in its shining 1 ms latency.
Just my 0.02

Thanks for the info, the below spec laptop is for backup. I have a macbookpro for primary, i just want to see if i can max out my lesser machine to use incase something bad happens.

:) OK now I get it
take a look at your activity monitor (in Utility) and kill all unnecessary processes (i.e. iTunes helper, etch)
obviously, set latency to maximum and use a very low refresh rate for the screen... after all it's just an emergency situation you could have to face, not normal operation

As suggested this is more likely to be caused by the system not being able to keep up.

Hello,
Sorry can you make a new ticket with this its very hard to track your post otherwise.
Home VS Ultimate would not help I suspect that you may have an IRQ issue or another performance blocker. If you make a new ticket we can help you resolve this.

Hey Sir Babs,
There was an issue with recording glitches that we've fixed in ITCH 1.5. This is currently in public beta, if you wish to try it out you can get it here -> www.serato.com (click link).
