When will serato fix the .flac support issue?

So I wrote a blog piece on my frustration with Serato DJ Intro not supporting .flac and found that it was suppose to but there is some bug preventing it from working… Considering my controller was stolen over the holidays now I'm seriously thinking about my next move, and also writing a follow up blog and I have a couple questions...

When will this get worked out?

Why is it that Serato seems to have so many difficulties with .flac? I seemed to take for ever for .flac to be supported on SSL, also there is some trouble with reading the key tag in flac files... Is it some sort of technology difficulty or what?

Yep, this has been a known bug on the forums since 2013. Still waiting...

the manual says it is supported but no joy, any fixes?

The file format is technically supported, but there's still the problem where it can't read FLAC key tag info.

Thanks, pretty bad that it has taken so long, I have a ton of music that is useless now :(

Well, it's a pain but you can always convert them to AIFF or ALAC with no loss of quality (and both those formats work fine).

Thanks, it may take too long so I have to decide if I am going to stump up for the upgrade, which I ain't happy about as I only use it to do charity gigs for dog shelters and cancer etc now I am retired in Spain.

Can you let me know which manual you got that information from as we were aware that certain manuals had stated that FLAC was supported but unfortunately that is not the case and only Serato DJ has FLAC support.

Hi,

Have to say that was not the greatest of answers Ian!

The manual that I downloaded from your site last night and if that is
the case you really should be offering people that have Intro a feck
off good discount, as I have now got about 6000 songs that I need to
convert :(

Seems you have no plans to do a fix so you also need to answer the
people on the forum who are still waiting for a fix they were
promised.

Hi, I have started another thread related to issues with Flac files. Please check it out. Any constructive input you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

(hopefully someday serato Flac will work properly, but until then maybe we can combine our knowledge to best work around these issues)
