Hi,
this happened overnight. Cue points on most recorded/ripped songs from vinyl are not being saved. They need longer to load than other mp3s and after loading they show as corrupt. I have tons of recorded songs with Vocal & instrumental versions and thus far never experienced any issues. Now all of a sudden these files appear as corrupt and cue points are not being saved? thanks for your immediate help.

Hi Hands Solo - can you please give me a few more specs? i.e. your computer type, operating system and version, memory and processor, and the version Scratch LIVE you're using? Also, what file format you're saving your ripped songs as?
Thanks
Thanks

macbook, osx 10.4.11, scratch live version 1.8.3. , internal hd 160gb, 60gb free space.
the files i'm having trouble with are all mp3s, encoded @ 256kbp. The other ripped files are wav format but they're all fine.

So, just to clarify - are you losing cue points and experiencing file corruption on only these newly ripped files? Or is this happening to older files too? Thanks

Another thing you could do is go into disk utility (applications > utilities > disk utility), then click on your hard drive and "verify disk permissions". This will read everything on your hard drive and tell you if there are any problems with it. If you encounter any major errors, then "repair disk permission".
Also, in the small column/box furtherest on the left of all your columns (i.e. song/ bpm/album etc) you can sort your corrupted files by clicking the the top column view. Scroll down until you find all the corrupted files grouped together, and then if you hover over this box for each file, it will give you more specifics as to why the file is corrupt. Can you please do this and tell me what messages are coming up?
Thanks

The funny thing is that these files (I'm losing the cue points on and are being corrupt) are over 2 years old. They worked well until 2 days ago.
I get the following infos when I hover over the corrupt sign:
- mp3 contains invalid audio data
- mp3 contains invalid frames

i found a way to work around it. took me 3 hours, but I converted all the "corrupt" files in iTunes to mp3s and deleted the old ones. Now the new ones are recognized by serato as proper files. Still upgrading to 1.8.3. caused a lot of trouble with the recorded songs. I use mixed in key and the keys for the recorded songs don't show up anymore, instead I get the usual recorded / date in the comment field.

It sounds like iTunes didn't copy the custom ID3 tags when you created new files. If the Mixed In Key comments are missing completely from both iTunes and Serato, then you will probably need to reanalyze the files in Mixed In Key to restore that data. It sounds like this has been a hassle for you, but please remain patient.

Did you try verifying your disk permissions? I'm interested to know whether you encountered any errors here. Thanks
