my name is tim, i bought serato scratch a month ago and set it up yesterday..

i have a problem..

....the left hand display for the left hand record deck plays whatever tune i choose 'backwards...'

i've swapped around the wires from the record decks into the SL1.
i've swapped around the wires from the SL1 into my mixer.
i've swapped around the channels i use on my mixer (pioneer DJM500).
i've deleted and then reinstalled serato scratch using the cd.

.......but the tunes still play backwards on the left side of the screen......

i tried the input reverse switch, and this just makes the forward playing right deck play backwards.

i can't find anything in the instruction manual that can help..............have i done something wrong...?

please help!

Hello timothy,

The problem is is that the control signal is inverted.

This is usually caused due to a bad rca cable coming from the turntable.
It can also be a poor connection between the needle and the tone arm.

First try swapping needles. If that doesn't do it then its probably a shotty rca.

A quick fix is to reverse the rca cables going into the SL1 so red goes to white and white goes to red.

Let us know if your still having issues.

Thankyou Zach..

i've had my technics re-wired recently, with nice fat cables replacing the skinny rca's, and i think the guy who did it musta swapped the red n white around....!

nice one; i'm off to enjoy a mix now...
peace
