Hi phoenixolivia,
Are they songs you have purchased from the iTunes store, or ones you have ripped yourself from CD?

I'm having a similar problem. I posted about it here:
www.serato.com
but the issue hasn't be completely addressed...

Unfortunately, that is the problem there phoenixolivia. Music purchased from iTunes is often DRM protected, meaning it wont play in any program or device other than iTunes or an iPod.
This article should explain it for you, and provide a work around:
ssl-wiki.help.bootlegs.de
The ones that are DRM free which will play in other programs are called iTunes + plus. They tend to be better sound quality too.

Okay now songs that aren't even bought from itunes are missing. I bought them from Beatport and they're in my itunes playlist but when I open serato they're missing.

Are they missing from your library completely, or do they come up "file not found" ?

This issue is still not resolved. Large numbers of my songs are still not showing up in my serato library even thought they are on my hardrive, itunes library and they are songs from all different sources :beatport, cds, acqusition and itunes songs with the plus sign.
I posted this problem a month ago and I've gotten no real help. If you guys can't solve this issue then I see no reason to keep using serato and I'm just about ready to return to my Cd decks and take back my Itch hardware.

Sorry it's not resolved yet Phoneixolivia. For all the songs that are on your harddrive, but are not showing up in your ITCH library, can you see them when you navigate through the files pane? Do you import all your new music manually into the ITCH library?

No I don't import manually, I just using the "read itunes" route. I don't think that's the problem because sometimes the tracks show up and other times for no reason they will be missing, or completely different files will be missing too.

Do you use the "keep itunes music folder organized".
You can check this in iTunes preferences - If so, Scratch LIVE may be 'losing' the music, as iTunes is moving it around.

That could be causing problems - "keep iTunes music folder organized" is best left unchecked as it can rearrange file locations and mess with the library. Just to be clear though, when your music doesn't show up, do your iTunes playlists still show?

yes my playlists are all still there, just alot of missing songs. Also the "keep itunes music folder organized" thing didn't make a difference. Tracks are still missing whether that's checked or not
