We're getting reports about Scratch LIVE crashing on startup after updating to iTunes version 8.0.1.

If you haven't updated to iTunes 8.0.1, we suggest holding off until we determine the exact cause and find a solution to the problem.

*Update*

** We recently released a 1.8.3 beta version that includes a built-in fix for the iTunes crash problem. The beta version can be found here -->> www.scratchlive.net **

If you recently updated to iTunes 8.0.1 and unable to revert back to iTunes version 8.0, the best workaround, at this time, is to create a new iTunes library and import your previous library, playlists and etc.

We published an article called "Steps to create a different iTunes Library" to walk you through the process of creating a new iTunes library and importing the old library.

Here's the link: Steps to create a different iTunes Library -->> www.scratchlive.net

My problem with the new iTunes is it changed my prfrences on me. It changed the location of my iTunes music folder from where I had it on my external HD, back to my internal. I regret ever updating past version 7.

You can redirect iTunes to point back to your external hard drive.

I was having the same problem with Scratch Live crashing, but then I created a different ITunes library per the instructions. Do I have to have duplicates of all of my playlists?

Are you seeing duplicate files? If so, you don't need duplicates, just erase one of them.

After I created a new iTunes library, any new track I downloaded into the iTunes is not read by the Scratch Live. What's the problem here?

Start a new topic.... don't add to this one.

Not sure if this will help anyone but it is an easy place to most of the older versions of iTunes.

I am still on 7.5 with the newest verion of SL... no issues...

one thing that I ran into with downgrading itunes is that once I managed to get it done, it said that my library was created with a more recent version and wouldn't open the library.

AGAIN, please do not use this thread for your questions, please start a new thread. Thank you.
