Serato DJ FAQ

Can I use my SL 2, SL 3, SL 4, Sixty-One, Sixty-Two, Sixty Eight with Serato DJ yet? When can I?

Not right now but very soon! All of these Rane devices will be supported in Serato DJ 1.6 which will be in public beta this December, and full release in February.

The public beta version isn't intended as a gig ready solution but rather, a time to test Serato DJ out at home, get used to it, ask any questions and be prepared. In Feb, it'll be ready to roll.

Exciting stuff right?

When will the Numark V7 work with Serato DJ?

This month!

We're sorry we've not been able to add support for this device earlier. We ran into some technical challenges while working on supporting this controller as it was quite different to everything else we had previously developed support for. We hope that all the extra development that has been put into Serato DJ over the last year is a nice treat though.

Will I be able to use "..." controller and my SL 2 / SL 3 / SL 4?

It's not something that's been actively tested and we can't say 100% if it's going to be stable. There's no plans right now to support this but we're definitely interested to hear what kinds of setup people are looking for.

When will Mac OS X Mavericks be supported?

Mac OS X Mavericks will be supported in an upcoming release. There's no known issues at this stage, and it should work fine but we can't give it the official green light just yet. If you are using it and come across any issues, please let our support team know so they can work at reproducing and logging any potential problems so we can give it the OK sooner!

When can I use Windows 8?

Just like OS X Mavericks, it will be supported in a release in the near future. We've been actively testing and there's no major issues so far. If you do have problems, the support team are the guys to help!

Are you going to add "..." feature?

With the work put into Serato DJ over the last year migrating current hardware and enhancing the platform, we're in great shape now to work on lots of exciting feature development! If you have ideas, problems that features could solve or just want to talk about improving existing functionality, make sure to have your say in our Serato DJ feature suggestion forum area. Our product planning team do hang out here a lot and we're always keen to hear what users want :)

Do I have to pay to upgrade?

You only have to pay to use Serato DJ if you have a Serato DJ Intro supported controller. If you're a Scratch Live person with Rane hardware that's going to be supported in Serato DJ, it's FREE. Download, install, connect your hardware and start DJing (You will also have to install drivers the first time you connect your hardware).

Can I now use Control Vinyl / CDs with my controller?

This isn't supported currently and there's no plans to implement this with current hardware. For now, DVS is only supported in Serato DJ with the Pioneer DJM-900SRT and supported Rane hardware devices.

What is #CBINT? Ive seen someone talking about it on Twitter.

#CBINT is an internal codename for a project called "can't believe it's not there". Basically it's a big internal list of features and improvements, some of which were already in Scratch Live, and that we want to bring across to Serato DJ. Give it a search on Twitter, we've teased out a few of the things that are forthcoming for Serato DJ 1.6.

I think it's also some kind of Colombian church.
