Hey skrachnbass,
What do you think would be the best way to map Slicer to the VCI-400?
Logan.

Hi Logan,
Thanks for your answering
I have had the vci 380 and the slicer mapping is perfect, just do it excatly.
The 400 have 4 buttons under the pads, cue, loop, roll and sample maybe swithing the loop pressing shift coul be the best way, I think that the loop is the less used option.
;-)

No slicer for vci 400 on last update :(
I 've been thinking on that and maybe a good solution would be to make a fx expansion pack adding slicer for non slicer supported controllers (like the vci) and would map a secondary controller with slicer.... or just adding for the vci 400 because i don't have an ipad to use on serato remote... Please think on that
Regards

Hey man sorry for the late reply I didn't see you had responded.
The thing is we can add Slicer to the VCI-400, we just need a sensible way to map it. We don't want to just throw it in there if it's hard to use or confusing.
Your suggestion is probably the best way, just make it SHIFT + one of the performance mode buttons. For example SHIFT + ROLL (which is the third performance mode button from the left). And then the Parameter Knob (on the left of shift) would be used to change the Slicer Quantize and Domain size. The reason we want to leave the other performance mode buttons empty with SHIFT is that we might add some cool stuff to them in the future ;)
Would be good to get some feedback on this from 400 users.

Hi Logan, no worry!
How you say would be the best way and still have 3 free shift buttons to add a new cool stuff (sample+shift, roll+shift and hot cue+shift) and I think the only thing that needs the vci 400 to be perfect is the slicer ;)

i hope they include slicer on vci-400. that is the only thing to complete this controller.

I have just switched from Tarktor to Serato DJ and found it does not have the slicer which I was excited about. Please add this feature, Map it to the shift+roll roll button. Its such a great feature its sorely missed on the vci400

Hey guy's you can expect this in an update of Serato DJ. It works well I've been playing with it :)

I can't tell you sorry. We don't give out release dates.
This millennia though.

Fair enough :) Will look out for it. Gotta say, lovin Serato DJ. Coming from Traktor it gets your eyes away from the screen and back to DJing intuitively. Hardware response is streets ahead too, nice work guys!

i can't wait for the slicer to be included in the vci-400. that would make my controller complete. i was planning to buy the pioneer ddj-sp1 just to get the slicer feature on it but i don't need it anymore. can't wait for the next update. please include the roll out fast and slow effects on the next update.

i think it would included in the next sdj update. from what i gather, they are still testing the slicer on the vci-400. i also hope they include the roll out fast and slow effect.

Come on Serato release it!!!! we want to burn the pads of our vci 400 ;-)

I shall go even farther, why not to put the exactly the same pads modes that the VCI 380 or Twitch ?
Hot Cue / Sample
Slicer / Slicer Loop
Auto Loop / Save Loop
Loop Roll / Manual Loop
IMO, this is the best of all configurations of pads modes ...

What H2H suggested. I have the Novation twitch and the Vci 400. Would love to see the slicer feature integrated into the 400.

Could you please provide manual, how to use it on VCI-400? Where the slicer button?

The Quickstart Guide for the VCI-400 will be updated when this version makes final release.
In the meantime, the release notes state: "Slicer Mode for Vestax VCI-400 (SHIFT + ROLL)".
Let me know if you get it going :)
