That combo has been working fine for me, and I don't recall anything that had to be set...

The combo has been working good for me, only issue I had was the other night while unplugging my dicers on the last song, SL froze. ME was running fine, the song played to the end, but I had to force close it. Other than that, it's been really stable and good.

Do I need to be on Mountain Lion? I open Scratchlive 2.4.4 then start Mix Emergency 2.2. When I load a video nothing happens in Mix Emergency. I have tried turning serato video on and off. Nothing. I can drag videos in ME to play but they are not in sync with Scratchlive.

It should be good to go. Check ME fader positions.

I have the same issue but with ssl 2.4.4 and me 2.1.0. Just shot a message in M.E. forum.
M.E. actually shows that it is connected to ssl but the vid doesnt show up. Opened up the older versions ssl 2.3.0 and ME 2.0.1 and works just fine.

Weird, I've been on the latest of both and everything seems to work fine. 2.4.4 is also the latest SL version that seems stable. Can you guys take a quick video of what's going on.

I forgot to do it last weekend but honestly the is nothing to see. Opened SL, opened ME, load videos and nothing shows up in ME. If I drop the video that is playing onto the ME decks it plays but not synced to SL.

Wondering if its not linking to ME somehow and or faders aren't linked to the mixer faders are is down. Checking the common issues.

It's hard to pin point, unless there's an example.

As a test, I think I'd try doing a clean Mac OS install on a spare external drive, install SL + ME on it, and see if the non-connectivity problem is still happening then.

have you tried using vsl or serato video just to test?

I have used vsl in the beginning. M.E. had such a huge jump on vsl I went that route and just got use to it. There are many functions on M.E. I cannot live without now.

Ta246562 By looking at your video, it doesn't look like you are on the latest version of ME, you need to be on the latest version, I believe 2.2 for it to work with SL 2.3 and above.

The 2.1.0 from my understanding from M.E. is the correct version to work prior to upgrading to the newest one at $99. I will do that as soon as I get this rolling flawless. Nicks on it. Im sure it will be figured out soon.

I'm still waiting for the next level of updates. Not to say i don't agree with the spirit of your post, But i'm still hoping for a little more since I paid that upgrade fee.

Its not that good of a tool. You can't apply it to a deck loading presets is still a pain. I have not found any useful way to use it. That why I'm moving towards doing everything in resolume now. including some effects.

really? I have 3 dozen presets all midi mapped to lemur and fire through them, and the beat increments ,as fast i can think of switching them,
them used with grid driven time effects works great for me
but different strokes for different folks.

I asked nick about doing this I was under the impression only 12 could be mapped.

My biggest pet peeve about ME is the fact that in the presets menu, it is 1 midi command for all of the deck A/B/active/passive setting. and not individual buttons. Als that i can't map effects to defult to 1 deck or the other. They are always on the master channel which mean I find myself clearing effects more than anything else.

out the gate i had the same idea/concern...i have everything stopped at 11 + 1 at none (aka no efx, or whatever)
then I mapped a button to up and a button to down in each panel of my preset
IE, the effects panel has three 12 button panels and 2 buttons to scroll up & down through the preset windows.
admittedly the first few nights were a bit sluggish.... but after a weekend i was just fine with it.
its certainly not the easiest configuration

True but wasn't going to upgrade until I saw the demo work.
Got it all dialed in now. Today for some reason the videos wouldn't play until I dragged the same video in M.E. a second time. After I did that all versions worked together and played with just dropping the track into serato. Problem? Who knows... Solved? Yes.

ME FX sequencer is the truth!

I found a way so you don't have to waste one for the none preset.

Map a button (in touch osc) to the effects drop down menu. In your setup of ME leave none at the top. have the button trigger a midi note at 1 velocity and your good.

The effects processor is an amazing tool, used with grid driven effects it's pretty crazy what you can do.

But it's certainly nothing crazy tech wise

I actually wasn't that bothered about FX in the past, preferring to let the original video breathe, but the ongoing rise of EDM 'story' videos, which are boring as hell, mean I'm looking at them much more keenly now.

So i sat down last night and re did all my effects in ME. I borrowed the clubs DJM2000 so i could bring it home and map everything to it. I really think I want one of these over a DJM900. Thats another topic. Anyway, I played with the EFX sequencer now and well I'm liking it more. I setup 12 presets and mapped them to the 12 efx button in the ceneter of the DJM. and I use the efx Level for wet/dry on video effects. i also mapped effects to the colour efx. I even got efects to shut off when i shut off audio effects. I'm so excited to see how it's going to look in the club.
Right now my sequences are all only 8 beats long. How long do you guys make sequences. I think i want to sit down and make them longer.

Also nick showed me how to set regular effect to assign to a deck. I have a MPD32 that i use for serato effects and loops (on the pads) and I mapped all of those to there respective video deck with matching effects now.

on the note of letting the original video breathe... this is there i wish there was another option like a button in the mediabank in M.E where the sequencer could be automatically switch off if an mp4 was loaded to a deck and then turn back on for mp3s when clips from the media bank are loaded so that the sequencer could randomly assign pre programmed audio effects as an mp3 is playing.

I'm doing something kinda like that. My media bank contains one file. quartz syphon client, I have resolume playing in the background on autopilot with a ton of clips in 2 layers and buttons on my ipad to switch between decks. But each deck has a ton of video clips. Anyway back to your point about BPM. I have resolume reading BPM info from the DJM mixer and have effects set up to trigger via the effects. You can have a layer full of effects all triggering parameters via bpm and set the autopilot to RR (random). Now I get much more play out of each clip.

I too find ME's media bank lacking (i was considering trying serato video because of the size of its media bank for a while there) But the effects in ME are spectacular. And now with resolume and the new mappings i have done its going to be ME for a while now.
