i have it..its decent...if u use it as a sampler...u just have to make sure you put the phone in airplane mode...wouldn't want to get a call during a gig and have everyone hear the phone ring!!

What about the iPhone timeout? Do u have to keep turning on the phone? If not, I think this is my next buy.

i think plugging it in might take care of this, or somewhere in the settings. My buddy showed me this the other day and it seemed very intuitive. I am sure it can be used for this purpose. Definitely on my "to buy" list.

Yeah, man. This is a killer app right here. Can't wait to get it and try it. DJ Shy, try what Dub Cowboy just said and give us some feedback regarding the timeout.

you can just turn auto lock off though and have the sampler stay on the screen i believe

oh hell naw.. I was just saying to my boy how serato needed to make an app for the iphone in order to edit music, reorder crates, or even add colors to your tracks.

Just got it, I don't know what to say. iPhone is a revolutionary device, this has just done it. I never in my life thought I'd be using my phone for a sampler. Let's see Treo & Blackberry beat that.

do you just run a RCA to audio input from the iphone headphone jack to the mixer?

it should be noted that I decided to download this app about 1 hour and a half before I played that night.
Downloaded
Installed on iphone
Downloaded beatpack companion program and installed it.
Converted 40 samples in itunes to wav
made two custom banks, remade one of them
uploaded to phone
adjusted start and end points and volume for each sample
oh and learned how to use it
all in about an hour
shit is on lock!!!

Does this thing crash on any of you?
What format do you save your samples in?

It hasn't crashed on me yet using an iTouch. But I haven't really pushed the limits yet either.

yes, it crashed once. When loading a kit, not during a performance.
I have been restarting my iphone before a show and put the thing in airplane mode. No hitches at all.
wav files.
I started with a bunch of 320 kbps mp3, and converted to wav in itunes.
I would have rather started with wav files. Beatmaker takes only wav and aif.
