crossfader problem - pls help

Last night with about 10 minutes to go I started getting this problem with the cross fader.
Basically if I have the right volume fader up no matter what position the crossfader is in (all the way to the left or right) the song on the right side stil plays through the mains.
I am hoping this is something easily fixed because if I have to send this thing in (again) just to get a crossfader I'm just gonna sell it.

okay never mind, I found some posts about the little sensor. I am looking at the sensor and it is extremely close to the brown thing that houses the magnet.
I have had nothing but problems with these crossfaders
- all 3 died before
- volume mis-match between left and right
- and now this
Who can I talk to about getting these replaced (again)?
so annoying for a $1300 piece of hardware.

I would say but don't quote me on it...Send it to Rane to get the faders fix but I did read somewhere you can bend the sensor so it won't bleed.

I moved the sensor a little bit. It's can't move any closer without hitting the thing that holds the magnet though.

You're bending it the wrong way. They need to be standing straight up or slightly outward from the center of the fader.

Shaun, I moved the fader till it was standing straight up and then out a little bit. Still the same problem.

Check the ribbon cables connecting the fader to the main PCB board inside the mixer, have one of the cables come loose?

It looks like we received your mixer yesterday 9-24-08, repaired it, and shipping it today 9-25-08 via UPS Next Day, so you should be getting it back tomorrow :)

ahhh finally my 57 is back in my possession!!!
I missed it her!
question: what would cause a hall sensor to break? I'm all about NOT breaking shit.

The hall sensors can blow if the faders are taken out and the ribbon cable (that connects the faders to the main board) gets connected backwards.

yeah I figured something like that would be the issue. Weird that it happened while I was spinning live (and not even touching the crossfader).
Luckily the music didn't die, just had to adjust how I mixed.
