Video SL on my Mac

I am looking to add video to my mobile DJ set up, with a projector and screen. My personal laptop is a dual 2.0 Ghz MBP with RAM maxed out at 2GB. My videocard is the ATI Radeon X1600 256MB. I use a Firewire external with about a thousand videos. These specs are very close to the "minimum specs" recommended to run video SL.
Before plopping down $1500 on the TTM 57SL, what kind of performance should I expect out of my personal system? I saw in another post (somewhere) that the system you developers use to test the system is a dual 2.16, 2GB RAM, Radeon 1600 card.

I am running the dual 2.16, 2GB RAM with Radeon 1600 128MB card and everything works perfectly for me.

Update--
Purchase the TTM 57 SL, it runs flawlessly on my MBP (at 3/4 highest output) with pretty much every effect enabled. It actually runs smoother than on the Vista-based PC i was using the club for the past 4 months. Glad I was able to bring this mixer into my mobile gig.

The thread is old, I know... But i'm trying to find out, if a frist gen MacBook Pro with the ATI 1600 is better that the unibody MacBook with the M9400...
Can somebody tell me which quality-setting in VSL he is using and how much FPS he gets?
