InspecDa-J 4:43 PM - 3 October, 2004
yo sup man just got a quick question bout yo performance which was recorded and has dem visual graphix?
Im makin a video and i want it to be turntablist like yo's but im real low budgit and was hoping yo could tell me how yo made dem 3d explodin rotating graphix? is it on the camera or a computer program?
Please help
Yo ive been tryin some body moves how yo do.. Do yo have some advice?
Lord Kaseem 4:33 PM - 4 October, 2004
Actually my friend named Pop actually did the graphic for me..He is my partner at Crookedstreetz...he is the web designer as well as the graphics dude. I would have to ask him,and I will post it later but i think he used a program called "Final Cut". Only thing I can say about body tricks is to put them in different combonations. Everybody moves the fader with their back when you turn around, but how you go in and out of a tricks makes it yours. I hope that helped. There is no substitute for hard practice sessions as well.
InspecDa-J 4:39 PM - 4 October, 2004
ii thnx lord kaseem yo da man..

yo deez body trix is real hard
do yo have yo needle arm up real high to add max weight so shit dont skip?

When im doin a body move im doin it on a sample of noise which sounds cool to da motion of da song to where i wanna take it. When i wanna body move say on da left deck im holdin da record in place wid my left hand so it dont go outta place den i slowly move onto da shoulder and roll round to da otha shoulder.. I havent even tried body move till a month ago but im slowly undastandin how to treat da dex and shit...

imma hunt dis final cut program down
thnx yo
InspecDa-J 4:41 PM - 4 October, 2004
is final cut just fo macs or PC's aswel
im on pc
DJ 3pm 4:42 PM - 4 October, 2004
inspecda-j; don't bother hunting down final cut, it's a mac only program. www.apple.com
Lord Kaseem 4:51 PM - 4 October, 2004
The main key to me is record control, and developing a feel(light handed). Cause you never know what type of stage or table the get you...and people just don't want to hear(oh the table was too shakey) Cause I have yet to have the perfect set up..outside of my home..It's always too low..too high or something wrong, and I still have to perform well.
InspecDa-J 12:37 AM - 5 October, 2004
lol word lord kaseem

whats a program dats e z to use? ive produced a video in director but i dunno how to do da cool stuff kaseem has.
I can only do fade in and fade outs.. rotate some shit which looks flat yo know..

Yo lord kaseem i hear yo bout record control.. what bout yo needles? Do yo have the height of the arm as high as possible and the weight on max to reduce skip?
Ive got m447's and i looked at one of da needles to just see why shit be skippin and da actual needle isnt in da middle of the /\ ting its gone wonky.. only on one needle. Is dis coz i have too much weight on it? I poked da needle hopin to allign it up in da middle again but durin da process i kinda dented it in places... Its mo so in da middle now den it was but shit i dont wanna kill ma shit when i spent nuff money on dis shit..
lol peace
Lord Kaseem 6:56 PM - 5 October, 2004
If you can believe it...I have two different needles on my turntables...the right side is a sure needle...
The other is an ortorphone.....I lost the other ortophone at a party I did. It's been working
well so I haven't changed it...Them shit's cost like 100 bucks a piece. I have to buy an
adapter for 130 bucks to record my records into MP3's so I just been waiting to get another
ortophone needle.
InspecDa-J 8:48 PM - 5 October, 2004

Yo da Funkmaster Wizard Wiz is worth alot.

Have yo increased da height of yo needles arm?
InspecDa-J 9:49 PM - 5 October, 2004
i tink its sick how we can see shit like da world trade centre fall down infront of our eyes and watch people jump outta da building and fall down to a definite death.

now is ice cream a drink or food? same wid soup
Lord Kaseem 9:55 PM - 5 October, 2004
Yea, my tone arms are in the middle. My anti skating is set to 3.5 or something like that(the highest number).
And I have my counter weights turned around backwards.
Lord Kaseem 9:58 PM - 5 October, 2004
To the best of my knowledge, Ice cream is a desert, so it food.
I guess soup is considered food.Lmao.

hey look, it's a normal thread :-P

now everyone fucking take note, you either play nice or get lost. J, don't ever threaten anyone on this board.
Revolutionary 10:19 PM - 5 October, 2004
Thanks.
InspecDa-J 10:24 PM - 5 October, 2004
yo LK i mean the height adjustment of da S shape arm higher or lower vertically. I never had problems when da level was totaly level like flat but i figured raise da height to skrax mo mad yo know.. i raised it nearly to its max. when i look at da needle to see whats gwarnin wid it coz da needle was all shakey da position of da needle (da little bit in between /\ shell) wasnt in da centre. Coz ive never been in dis situation b4 tryin to put a needle back in da middle again, i might of caused some damage but so far da needle aint been jumpin like a bitch

i dont mean yo have frozen soup or eat it. but icecream frozen or slushy could be drank same wid soup

i could go down many paths of debate bout my comment bout da towers but i wont lol

J-BRAVO 9:21 AM - 6 October, 2004
anti skating just increases outward pull, if your turntables are properly calibrated and you scratch, its best to have anti skate on 0.

wind back your weight until your needle floats (ie '0 grams') and see what the tonearm does - if skating is on 0 and it stays still you're good to go. try dialing up the anti skate when the arm is floating - the more you put on the more/faster the arm will move out ie away from the centre of the table.

why do so few dj's know this stuff? Its not rocket science.

Yes but its not in the Technics manual. When I first started DJing I only had one friend who was also DJ, and no internet, so the word of mouth info was not there either.
Lord Kaseem 5:53 PM - 6 October, 2004
I have to say the same thing as well. When I started djing, I didn't know what it was even used for. I was more like trial and error for me. Especially back then, I've used the same settings since I started djing. Once I got it to not skip when I pulled the record back I was good. I hate that I am like that sometimes. I have an MPc 2000 as well and I can make hot beats but I don't know it inside and out like other producers.(You know the lil nuances). Hell I wish I knew how to change the phono wires on my technics..I got another set of turntables that I can't even use because of my non technical ass. But I have to say that these boards are more helpful than taking a class about it.
lo-fi 10:42 PM - 6 October, 2004
Talking about the MPC - I know mine inside out. Holla at me if you need any info.

Maybe you can help me out too: where the hell did you find the 'register' button on www.mpc-forums.com ? I see the 'log-in' button, but I need to register first...

(remember, there are no stupid questions, just stupid people)
Lord Kaseem 4:34 PM - 7 October, 2004
Yeah, I registered for that sight a while ago. I can't remember how I registered for it. But it's a great sight.
